Another incredible thriller from Karen Rose. She is now on my list of favorite authors!
This story deals with an arsonist that seems to have deadly intent with the fires he sets. The victims are mounting in numbers and Fire Inspector Reed Solliday & Homicide Detective Mia Mitchell don't seem to be any closer to finding the perpatrator that is setting the fires and killing innocent people.
The Chicago Fire Department and Police Department are working together on this horrific case. What neither department planned on was the two highly compentent people assigned to the case becoming attracted to each other. Both Mia & Reed bring experience to the table in solving the crimes being committed, seemingly at random in the Chicago area. When they do get some solid evidence and leads the arsonist seems to always be a step ahead of them.
Like of all of Karen Rose's books this will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out the guility party and rooting for the principal characters to solve the crime while also falling in love.

I've seriously got to pick
I've seriously got to pick up one of these books. They're exactly the type of thing I love to read. Although, Sadhbh is doing a good job getting me over my abhorrence for vampires to give a J.R. Ward a try. Sadhbh and Sarah over at SmartBitchesTrashyNovels.com who described Dark Lover as being addicting as crack. I mean, how can I turn my back on that?
But back to murder and arson, I've got this one on my Amazon wish list. It sounds great!

Great review
Great Review Donna - I love her books.
Do it Lori.... Karen Rose is an autobuy for me and I have not hit a bad one yet. She keeps the action moving and creates a good read.
As for vamps, these readers have turned me around. Read the JR Wards and then try Lara Adrian - fabulous author. I then got into Savannah Russe... a little darker and now am reading Lynn Viehl - really fabulous author who used to write romance as Jessica Hall which I scrambled to find - they were terrific
This blogsite will open your doors to new and exciting finds

Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!
Great review, Donna!
Don't you just love Karen Rose? And where does she get these ideas? I really enjoyed this one. Mia has been intriguing me since she was introduced so many books ago. I'm glad she finally got her story. And Reed...wow, what a hottie! My only complaint? I wish she could write faster - I hate this waiting for the new book!
Lori - I don't know if you realize these books of KR's are connected. Mia has had minor roles in the others, so you may want to start at the beginning with "Don't Tell" Here's her website, she has an excellent section on how the books are connected. Don't worry though - they are all really good. http://www.karenrosebooks.com/index.htm

Karen Rose!
I've often wondered about Karen Rose myself! How can she write such creepy, chilling criminals & at the same time a love story about two people caught up in the devastation of the crime spree? She is a real talent. I haven't read Die for Me yet, not sure if this is the latest book or if there is another one after that.
Have a great Sunday, everyone.
Take care, happy reading,

Die For Me is the latest one
and is available now. Scream For Me is due out in May 08. Die for me is Vito's story (Tess' brother). It is very gruesome and very good!
