Country of the Heart by Robyn Donald (HP 1040)

She's a 27 yr old city doctor on an island recovering from a bout of pneumonia.  She meets the hero, a big man who lives for the freedom of the open spaces!  They have insanely good chemistry.  He wants an affair.  She doesn't do affairs at all, she has a phobia about getting intimate and involved (because of her mother).  But she falls in love with him and gives in to the passion.  He wants marriage (oh the proposal just made my heart jump a little.. it's sudden and surprising).  They can't marry though, because she's a city doctor and he's connected to his land and couldn't imagine life elsewhere.  They try to break up and go their own ways, but they keep getting drawn back into each other's arms.  They have to work out a way to compromise and live together somewhere they can both satisfy their dreams. 

Great novel.  I really enjoy most books by Robyn Donald.  The chemistry between this couple is amazing.  Loved it.  The only negative I can even think of is that the hero went from wanting a sexual affair with her (he was a charmingly horny rogue) to calling her "my heart" and speaking poetry to her.  Other than that slightly unrealistic change, the book was great.

Rating: 4.5/5 stars, a real enjoyable HP read, hot plus it stirred my heart strings.
