A haven't read a Special Edition release in years. This book was a good one to get back into the line.
The story: Melanie McFarlane wants to open a guest ranch in Montana. Originally from the East and from a wealthy hotel dynasty, she is not used to having to ask for anything. But she needs help and so she offers her neighbour Russ Chilton half of her ranch for his expertise. He agrees, but when she asks him to pose as her husband he wants it legally binding. They agree on no hanky panky, but find that the attraction is too strong to resist.
Allison Leigh is a new to me author and I'm glad to have discovered her. She delivered a fun, emotional and rewarding romance. The characters are likable and the story was a fast read. I bought it because of Christmas sounding title. It is not so much a holiday story, even it plays before and after Christmas, but I wasn't too disappointed. I would have liked to get a better sense of the setting (I don't know much about Montana and would have liked to learn more), and felt a little overwhelmed with all the secondary characters (I might just have to find their books), but other than that I really enjoyed A Cowboy Under Her Tree and I'm happy to recommend it.
Series: Montana Mavericks: Striking It Rich
Rating: very good
