I love Jennifer Crusie's books. I needed a romantic comedy after the last two very serious books. This one fit the bill. Quinn is not really satisfied with her life and when a student brings her a dog that she found Quinn knows that Katie is "her dog". Bill, her boyfriend, has different ideas. Quinn decides that she hates the furniture that Bill bought for the apartment, hates the apartment and doesn't really like Bill very much either. She informs him that she needs change and moves out. Bill can't believe that they are broken up and won't leave Quinn alone. He is convinced that if they could just talk he could convince her to come back home. Quinn realizes that Bill never listened to her and nobody ever "sees" her. She makes this one change (to adopt a dog) and it's like a snowball. More changes keep coming. She and Nick (her best friend and ex-brother-in-law) realize that there may be more to their relationship and many other things happen with Quinn's family and friends in the small town of Tibbett, OH. This is a very fun book though Bill's behavior gets kind of scary. I really like how she finally convinces him that it's over.
"It is to the credit of human nature that, except where its selfishness is brought into play, it loves more readily than it hates."
