I bought as a gift, but it made its way back to our house recently. My dh read it and loved it - and that's saying a lot because he's not a huge reader. I put it on my TBR pile, and it was promptly swallowed whole. (You know how it goes...) I finally rescued it and read it immediately. It was so AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Am I making it clear how much I loved it?)
This story is told from the perspective of a 15-year-old boy with autism. Haddon did such a brilliant job of capturing that voice that I was blown away. I don't even know how to say how much I loved this book. The book reads so fast. And the writing is tight. Really brilliant, too. I was laughing out loud at parts and crying at others. It was just so well done that I was completely involved in this book. So good!

I agree!
I read this a few years ago and felt the same way about the pov and capturing that voice. It is brilliant.

I loved this book too. A
I loved this book too. A friend gave it to me as a gift and it totally gave me a new perspective on autism. If you liked this, you'd like The Observatory Mansions by Edward Carey. I'm not sure why I'm recommending this because the books aren't really that similar but I read it after reading A Curious... and thought it was fantastic.
me too
I just saw this book again at my sister's house & was reminded how great it is. Glad you enjoyed ...
