Dance Upon the Air is the first book in the Three Sisters Island trilogy. I chose this series as my first Nora Roberts because it is a paranormal, plus the premise of three "sisters" who were magically connected reminded me of Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters series, which is my favourite series of hers.
The heroine Nell is on the run from her abusive husband after faking her death in a car crash. She settles on Three Sisters Island, which was supposedly created by three witches fleeing the Salem Witch trials. Along with learning how to form a loving relationship with Zack, the island's sherriff, Nell also discovers that she is one of the three fated descendents of the original three sisters who are each desitned to battle to save the island.
Although this has a much gentler pace than most of the paranormals I've read, I really enjoyed this book. Roberts creates believable and sympathetic characters that grow and change.
As a new reader of romance, beyond some paranormal authors, I've been
trying to read some of the more popular authors in the genre that I
haven't tried before. This is the first Nora Roberts book I've read,
and it won't be the last.

I loved this series. The
I loved this series. The paranormal parts were just perfect for me. This is also the series that got my daughter (then 16) hooked on romances. She's 21 now and just as addicted as I am.
