I haven't read any of Brenda Joyce's de Warenne series before and the synopsis drew me in.  I was curious how this very intellectual lady, whom was not looking for love or expected to ever find it, would find her love and keep him.  She found him in the least likely of places and had the fight of her life on her hands after that.

I love reading stories where the hero elicits so many emotions.  Empathy, compassion, desire, anger, frustration and rage.  There were times I really felt for the hero and then there were times I just wanted to kick him upside the head.  I had similiar feelings toward the heroine.  At times I even wanted to tell her to give up on the guy, but she wouldn't stop fighting for him.

Definitely going to keep an eye out on the de Warenne series.
