Dawn's Awakening

The runt if the lab she was created in, Dawn Daniels endured years of torture by her pride brother and the Council soldiers. Finally freed from her torment, she’s now a Breed Enforcer, in control of her own life. Then she’s assigned to protect the one man destined to be her mate--and realizes it’s far too easy to lose total control.

One of the Breeds’ most important supporters, Seth Lawrence has spent years trying to forget Dawn, knowing that her lost innocence has made it impossible for her to get close to anyone. But suddenly neither of them can find the strength to fight the overwhelming passion between them. At least until the most brutal tormentor from Dawn’s past reappears--and threatens to destroy their newfound love, along with their lives…

Once again another great installment to the Breed series. The more I read the more I find myself intrigued by this world. This book was filled with lots of emotions. It is a great example of trying to overcome one’s past and except what happened and to learn to face it in order to move on. Not only did Dawn’s past interfere with her relationship with Seth, but it also interfered with her relationships with her pride brother. I really love the loyalties among the prides and how they watch over each other it is very moving. And out of all the side characters I really found myself intrigued by Cassie! Her ability to see the child version of Dawn was very intriguing. We had a slight teaser at the end of the story with her and a mysterious suitor. I hope we don’t have to wait too long to find out who it is. I cannot wait for Mercury’s War which looks like it won’t be out until the fall. Oh well in the mean time I will be tracking down the older books in the Breed series I especially want to read about the Wolf Breeds! Thanks to Jill I no doubt will be paying a visit to the UBS here to hopefully find some of the older books.

I MUST WARN NOT ONLY IS THERE EXPLICIT SEX BUT TALK OF CHILD RAPE.

A place inside my brain
Another kind of pain
You don't know the chances
I'm so blind!
