I chose this book because the heroine is an archaeologist, but had trouble getting into the story, probably due to a personal bias--it's more paranormal than I usually like. Still enjoyed it, though, and was touched by the distance and yearning between several of the characters. The ending may or may not be a surprise and may or may not upset some readers--I'd be interested in hearing how other readers felt about it (although that might lead to spoilers.)
