When the past comes back to haunt you, it's win, place--or lose it all...
Mojo’s got an uncanny knack for winning at slots, but her home sweet home is Bad-Ass Bert’s Biker Saloon. She’d love to go undercover with an irresistibly hot cop, but he’s got baggage as big as his biceps. Mojo survived a mysterious childhood tragedy, but she’s never quite figured out who she really is or how to get on with her life. Now the wisecracking Mojo is seeing ghosts-the ectoplasmic kind-and turning up baffling clues to her real identity. And she’ll need all her savvy and strange new talent to keep someone from burying her--and the truth--for keeps.
At first I didn’t quite get pulled into this like I did “The Man From Stone Creek” but after about the 3rd chapter I was able to get into this. It seemed like it was going to be one of those stories that went nowhere but once it did boy did it take off. I really found myself easily getting pulled in with Mojo who was funny, quirky, and had a big heart. There were times where I wanted to yell at her though but over all she was a fun heroine! From seeing ghosts of her ex-husband and childhood cat, to her mysterious childhood, her foster sisters, and a sexy cop with baggage how could you not enjoy her. This book was a mixture of amusement, emotions, suspense along with some tense moments. This is my 2nd book by Linda Lael Miller and I am really becoming a fan of her. So much talent just with the way she pulls you into stories that make you feel like you know the characters and of course there were animals present once again. I plan on reading a bunch of her books after I get caught up with my subscriptions. This book was supposed to be part of last months “One thing leads to another” challenge but its too late. But just like “The Dead Room” this book not only had a title with “dead” in it but this story also had ghosts that helped some with the story and even saved Mojo a time or two. This ended with a slight cliffhanger so I look forward to the next one.

I read the first page or two of this and it's been in my TBR mountain ever since. Glad to hear it's good... maybe it's time I pull it out and read it.
