I'm writing this letter to inform you that your sons, Heat and Snow are either confused or highly disturbed. I feel that I can tell you this because of the bond you and I acquired when I was a newly divorced woman and you sent a good majority of the hurricanes to the state my ex resides in.
You see, last week, the sun was shining and I was elated. So elated in fact that one of my neighbors accused me of being drunk because he caught me acting out of character. I was actually nice. When I explained that it was the sun by singing the words of John Denver--"Sunshine on my shoulders, makes me happy." He still didn't buy it. I'm pretty sure he's now very afraid of me. This week, however has me behaving like my true Zodiac sign--Cancer. I'm burrowed beneath the sand, holed up in my shell. I'm crabby because I'm freezing and it's almost May!
Perhaps, Snow Miser is upset and or jealous because while I usually prefer tall men I simply can't resist Heat's warm personality and cozy charm. Quite frankly, Heat has melted my heart.
I would deeply appreciate it if you could step in and make your boys come to some sort of compromise like you did back in 1974. And while you're at it, if you could tell Jack Frost that his nipping at my nose is quite old and getting more than a little annoying, I'd appreciate it.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Rae

If this is a petition...
...show me where to sign!! I want the sixties. I'm not greedy, not asking for anything warmer than that...even the upper fifties!

After a week or so ago of some nice seventies, we are back in the low 50s again today. Ugh, I want my spring. Very funny post, my kids love that movie.

Snow, then Sun
I had a hard time sleeping last night, laid down and this blog post came to me--at 3 am!
I'm rather tired today, but I can say that MN didn't check her memo's first thing this morning because it was actually snowing here this morning--flurries mind you--but snow none the less. I'm not a morning person to begin with, but when it's April 30th and I see snow, it doesn't make me a happy camper.
Now, the sun is out, so perhaps MN did see my Memo to her and no petitions will be necessary. However, Holly, I am greedy and I want 70s and 80s. Yesterday.
Cady, I'm glad I brought some humor to your morning. The Year Without A Santa Claus is in a tie with A Christmas Story for first place as far as my favorite Holiday movies. My kids roll their eyes at me as I sing with Heat and Snow Miser and the fact that I can quote lines and still giggle over the Red Ryder BB guns.

Sun, Wind and Sun
Well here I sit in NM (BIG difference from MN let me tell you) and it is 64 now and heading to 79, but windy. The spring winds here are miserable and fan lots of little fires into big ones. I head to Tucson in the morning where they are in the mid 80's already. I am with Holly I would take a little cooler.

Witty post, Rae!
I love your 'conversation' with Mother Nature. Our temps here in Indiana have been bouncing up and down like a kid holding his pants, too. In the morning it's cold, in the afternoon it's warm, then back again to a frosty night. We've even had freeze advisories - after planting our spring flowers! But then, I figure, hey, we'll soon be thinking why the heck did we complain about cool weather while we had it! <GG> Or then again, maybe not....
Oh, and my favorite of those two movies is definitely A Christmas Story. "You'll shoot your eyes out, you'll shoot your eyes out!" Oh, no, what have I started? I'm chanting it to myself now, and that means I'll probably be doing that all day! This is why I'm WAY glad Christmas is over - Holiday chants and songs are impossible to get out of my head! LOL
planting flowers
friends and family are asking if they should plant their flowers yet my answer was "no this weather is too good to be true. Someone forgot to tell Heat and Snow April Fool's Day is only one day.

Rae, love your sense of humor. We had little spits of snow off and on all day. My dh and I were wondering if MN forgot that April 1st in April Fools day and thought she would play a joke on is.

I lost my sense of humor
I lost my sense of humor when I couldn't get online for the rest of the day yesterday and the majority of the day today, so I apologize for not personally responding to everyone of you.
Warmth is on the way and it's all because I asked her nicely. LOL
Rae, who is waiting for the deep freeze now for being a smart butt.
Cute...
but I'm assuming your ex was in Florida when we got hammered. We're willing to kick him out to keep the hurricanes away!
On a serious note, dreading hurricane season since the weather has been SO odd lately!!!
