Having recently read The Kommandant's Girl, I was so excited to have the opportunity to read The Diplomat's Wife immediately after. This book was fantastic, I don't even know if my review will do it justice. The Kommandant's Girl was action packed with romance thrown in, this one is so much better!
In the follow-up to The Kommandant's Girl, we catch up with Marta who had worked in the resistance with Emma. It's post WWII and Marta's trying to move forward and start a new life, but where? Poland is in disrepair, her family is gone and she has no idea where any of her friends in the resistance are.
Pam Jenoff has this amazing ability to write so well that I can actually picture the exact scene I'm reading without being too descriptive that I skip over paragraphs.
I found that the last half of this book is so full of action, twists and turns that I could not put it down. I can only hope that Pam will continue with this series and I have an idea of which direction she'll head into for the next book, although I won't share as it will ruin this great book.
Pick this book up in May 2008.
