Dirty by Megan Hart

I really was not expecting this book to be what it was.  There were a lot of erotic scenes between Dan and Elle which were great, but I really got into the story.  Elle was very standoffish with Dan was obviously only using him for sex.  The reasons she closes herself off from others is serious.  There are really deep hurts and secrets.  Elle also has cut herself off from almost everyone else except her younger brother.  To say that her family is dysfunctional is a gross understatement.  I liked this book alot and really cared for Dan and Elle and even her screwed up family.  I guessed at some of what had happened to Elle, but not all of it.  I have not read anything by this author before, but I do have Tempted on my TBR shelves.  Dirty is not a whimsical erotic tale but a serious character exploration.  I was proud of how Elle and Dan were doing towards the end of the book.  I was sure they were both going to be OK.  This also does not have the typical HEA.  There is one, but it's not the typical HEA in that everyone loved everyone and the bad guys were caught.  I would caution that there is some serious subject matter involved in this story.

"It is to the credit of human nature that, except where its selfishness is brought into play, it loves more readily than it hates."
