I have no idea what I'm doing--no good at these internet things and worry about looking silly--but Jayne wants books read and so I will try to chip in to the grooving group. If I don't do this right, will someone please re-format me, or at the least, delete me??
My second book is THE REMAINS OF THE DEAD, by Wendy Roberts. I picked this up because I like cozy mysteries, and this one had a new twist in that the heroine can talk to the victims of the murders her cleaning company is sent to clean up. This series is called the Ghost Dusters mysteries, and this is book #1.

Excellent book!
I enjoyed it, waiting for the next -- what did you think? I didn't consider it a cozy so much, though? I thought there was a little too much graphic stuff with the crimes and potential for romance/sex -- cozies don't have any of that, right?

Hi, Sam!
Hey, Sam! I called THE REMAINS OF THE DEAD a cozy because I thought the author's humorous voice sparkled, so I didn't feel "scared" by any of the events--I am a huge baby and everybody knows what a lightweight I am--but there's probably a better descriptive word than I used. Roberts wasn't Elaine Viets cozy, no, BUT did you notice that even when the heroine is talking to the dead guy at the beginning who didn't want to "go over" it wasn't threatening. You know what I mean? In fact, I rather sympathized in a laughing manner with the guy, and I put that down to the author's treatment of the subject matter. I can't wait for the next one!

Tina my SISTER!!
Thank you so much for coming out to help us with this project. I see that you've created a couple of Book Reviews already, that's AWESOME. Blog Entry's are different from Book Reviews and that you need to create a Book Review in order to make our counter increase. Just in case you have more questions here's a link to the How-to thread that will walk you through creating book reviews for the 100,000 Book Challenge. So you got it right, you create a blog entry for general yacking and a Book Review to add to the Challenge.
So, how ARE you? What are you working on these days? We have SO got a lot of catching up to do!

Hello Aurelene and Jayne my sister!
Aurelene, so good to see you--and how clever of you to "read" a book on cd! This is such a difficult assignment for me because I collect books like flotsam in the ocean, and then I ferret them away in special "collections" in the house, dear friends I can hardly bear to part with. So coming up with my list of 10 is so difficult! But I will rise to Jayne's challenge!
Hello, Jayne, dear, what a tricky thing you ask! It's an addiction, this love of books, and it causes me to go back over my best loves with fondness--I can get lost in this project, so I must stay on track with my ten! And yes, I did at least realize that the blog was different from the actual reviews and counter, AFTER I started in one place and realized I should be in another . . . which happens for me from time to time.
Nevertheless, count me as a willing participant!
Love, Tina
Tina, books in any form count.
We listen to lots of books in the car. My kids are younger, so I combine 2-4 of their audiobooks for the auto-counter ("Book Review") and do them under one entry (to get them up to the equivalent of a full-length book). But when they're not in the car, I'll listen to whatever I can. My library has books available on CD, cassette and downloadable plus I subscribe to audible.com (which is where I get most of my Harl. Ent. audios). Love me my audio books. Listened to Anne of Green Gables recently and while I didn't enjoy it as much as having a day by myself to curl on the couch and read it, I loved being with her again. It was audio or no Anne at all . . . and I hadn't re-read Anne since I don't know when.
eBooks count, too. You have to be more aware of how long the ebooks would be, though, as many of the ones my friend shewolf reads are shorts. She combines several into one review once she's read the equivalent of a full-length book (same as me and my kids' books).
Is Jayne your real sister or your sister of the heart?

Sisters
Hi Penn,
Many people ask us, but truth be told we're sisters of the heart. I'll try to dig up a photo of us....we're quite different looking on the outside. Tina's more the blonde bombshell, where I'm the nerdy brunette.

Not true!
No, no I'M the nerd and Jayne is the crafty one. She can sew costumes and do cool things. She's also more outgoing. But in spite of all her gorgeous talents, Mom always loved me best . . .
I'm teasing. I don't even know how we got started with our sister act--we've just always done it.
My sister, Kim, has a picture on my website and I'm going to be putting up some more when my website is redone next month. I'm so excited about that!

Aurelene
Jayne is a glam girl
Aurelene, I agree with you--Jayne is kind of a sexy chick. It's the confidence. That's what's lacking with these movie star kids today--confidence. Monroe had it--Hepburn had it . . . or if they didn't, they faked it. These young stars today are sort of messy, I think, a lot of the time.
If we HAVE to be movie stars....
I'm going with Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe, what'dya say Tina??

I too think you're prettier than Jane Russell, Jayne. And I prefer the way you spell your name.

Okay you can move the NOT to between Tina and is
you still need the "not" in the sentence
and the subject line gives you away from the editing pov

her not came earlier

speed reading again?

No Nancy - she's the queen of editing out her mistakes -
that was my point, whether she puts it between "Tina" and "is" or
between "who'd" and "get" is irrelevant as long as the "not" is in the
sentence

Actually . . .
I would in fact get thrown out of bed for eating crackers! That is one thing my husband does not tolerate--food out of the kitchen!!
He would FREAK if there were cracker crumbs in the bed.
I see Jayne my sister put a little pic up for me! Someone goose Jayne and ask her if she can swap the pink one in there instead . . . it's newer and I'm plumper and also wearing pink, and Fake Frenchie likes me in pink, lol.
I don't like the motorcycle jacket look--it's so dark, huh?
You know, if Jayne is sexy Jane Russell, then I will be Lucille Ball.
