Elizabeth's Wolf

Book Blurb:

"Dash thought himself alone, a soldier, a fighting machine and no more.

Elizabeth made him realize he was a man.

Danger surrounds the woman his soul marked as his mate, death and blood and treachery that go beyond even his worst nightmares. But he will protect her and what she claims as her own.  He was created to kill, trained to do it efficiently, and only a man bound to her, heart and soul, will have the strength to save Elizabeth and her prized possession."

***I rate this book very good.  I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end.  This book is part of Leigh's breed series.  I don't know what order it falls in this series.  However, from the storyline it appears to be one of the very first books in the series.

The breeds were created by an evil council with a combination of DNA from both humans and animals (namely the cat breeds; wolf, cougar, and loin).  The breeds were created to be slaves and malicious soldiers controlled by an evil council.  The breed training was brutal, relentless and savage; ensuring only the strongest breeds were able to survive.  Many breeds escaped the training labs and have been hiding as humans in an effort to survive.

Elizabeth unknowing was impregnated with sperm from a coyote/wolf breed.  Elizabeth gave birth to a beautiful daughter Cassie.  After her husband is murdered in front of their eight year daughter Cassie, Elizabeth discovers her husband has sold Cassie to a very sinister mobster, who is known for his perverted acts with children.  Elizabeth has spent the last year running from this mobster who has placed a large bounty for the capture of both her and Cassie.

Dash is a wolf breed who escaped from the training labs when he was ten years old.  Dash is a loner and was seriously injured in an explosion that killed everyone else in his elite military squad.  Dash wishes he had died too.  The letters little Cassie sends to Dash while he is dying in a military hospital becomes the catalyst which inspires him to fight to live .  Dash instinctively knows that Cassie and her mother Elizabeth are in serious danger.  Dash is also aware that even though he has never met Elizabeth she is his mate and that he must protect her and Cassie at all cost.

I can't wait for Cassie's story to develop when she grows up.  Cassie is so fiercely protective of her mother.  Some of the things she says are so funny.  In Dawn's Awaking which was just released, Cassie was 18, so hopefully her story will be coming soon.

I think I enjoyed Dash's character the most.  He was so loyal, protective, and alone.  It was a joy to see his character's evolution.
