We have company coming, so thought I'd do my Q1 review now. I know I could update my stats regularly in my bio but I'm just too lazy to change it regularly and thought doing it quarterly is probably often enough.
These stats don't "jive" with the number read on my profile page. That number includes the children's books that I've read with my kids (so far just audio in the car and yes, I've combined several into each "Book Review" so the auto counter has an accurate count). These stats include just my "own" or "grown-up" books (which also includes the YAs that I read for myself).
- Total Read (all formats): 38 (29 Harl Ent / 9 Other)
- Breakout Print / Audio / eBook: 24 / 8 / 6
- Percent of Print or eBooks that were from the "old" TBR: 50%
So, that's pretty much how I'm tracking them. My "old" TBR percent fell b/c most of the March reads were newer but I'll be getting back on track. I've been really good about not buying many books. I've only bought 13 books since Jan 1, so that's just over a month's supply.
Now, that said, I got 35 Mary Burchell books in the mail two days ago thanks to Sun City Resident (plus 2 that I got a few weeks ago from online). I'm not quite sure how to consider them. I don't think that they'll go to the TBR pile. I know I'll loan some out. Maybe we can do a round-robin loaner. They were all PRINTED in the 1960s-1980s but three of them were written in the 1930s, two in the 1940s, a few in the '50s, several in the '60s, a lot in the '70s and a few in the '80s. Amazing. One of those books is her autobiography, which I've started reading.
Enough about the books. Now about some personal things. I have totally FAILED in staying away from here. But that doesn't mean that I can't start SUCCEEDING now. So, I will try to limit my time in the community to one or two big blocks of time a week instead of little bits of time throughout the week. So if you want me between visits, well, I guess you'll have to ask someone with my personal email addy (Debkc3 or shewolf of the D2K Paranormals or msrb of the The Born Readers or Sadhbh of the Dream Team -- I'm not listing my teammates b/c they're around less than I am) to email me and go to whichever discussion you'd like me to see.
So, that's it for the first quarter of this year. Now I need to get to my household chores / activities (including finishing our taxes - ug!).

Hi Penni - have fun with the taxes, I suppose I signed up for
the job of your personal assistant without realising it
Yeah
I know, I owe you for sending me my books and lending me the space
between their arrival and departure, but you do realise this implies
that I could read about four more books a week if I stopped hanging
round the boards and just read books instead of being sociable
Jayne which would you prefer, me to read about an extra 150 books or me to hang out on the boards being sociable?
that's what's called putting her on the horns of a dilemma
Hugs

Or maybe I just "drafted" all y'all. I figure no one's going to really be looking for me . . . but just in case. I guess I should have asked but really, you'd have said "yes" right? right? LOL Maybe they'll bother someone who lives closer to my time zone.
Happy weekend,
P
