Everyone Loves Evie by Beth Ciotta

Offbeat, eclectic, wacky and wonderful, it's Evie and the Chameleon Chronicles!

I love Evie! A former lounge singer now turned secret agent in an organization of former con artists stinging cons, Evie is about to start a new life complete with a new job and her new love, Archie. The problem is that Archie is a con artist turned good but a con artist no less. How can Evie know if what they have is real? He knows her like no one else but isn't that part of the con? Her plans turn awry when Milo hires her for Chameleon, against Archie's advice, and develops a crush on Evie. Does she choose the good boy or the bad boy? When her nice prim and proper mother gets a new hairdo and starts primping, Evie knows there is a new man in her life and takes a leave from Chameleon..only Milo and Archie join her and make it a mission complete with roles to play. Will Chameleon find the answers to the mystery and more importantly, will Evie find the answers to the questions of her heart?

I am not even sure I can explain why I love Evie and Beth Ciotta so much. Her romances are definitely a major breath of fresh air. Humorous and just crazy at times, they also have a tender element. Evie is a self-contradiction in herself and Beth Ciotta comes up with some of the funniest lines writing in Evie's voice. A couple of touching moments too.

Last year Beth Ciotta's book All About Evie came in my Romance subscription. I read the blurb and thought to myself this was exactly the kind of book that I would NOT like! I have no idea why I even opened it but I did and now I am an Evie addict. I have had a vertylong week and it's only Monday! I guess the best way for me to describe Beth Ciotta is she is fantastic at just taking me away into a completely new world, a world that makes me laugh not at Evie but with her. I can't tell whether or not there will be another Evie or Chameleon Chronicle story after this but I sure hope this is only the beginning.

I read this as well and

I read this as well and loved it.  I really thought though that the ending left me with the feeling that there would definitely be another Evie book coming out.  Although the one "problem" was solved and under control there was still no solution to "problem 2".  Just the way the book ended I'm under the definite impression that there will be at least one more book with Evie.  Lets hope so.

I hope so.

Yes...there is problem 2.  That would be a scream, wouldn't it.  I just love this author and Evie's escapades!  I am so glad I discovered her!  Beth Ciotta was so much a perfect read right now I cannot tell you!

Thank You

Good morning, Paisley,

I hope this isn't author intrusive, but I recently created my own blog here at eharlequin and while surfing, tripped upon this post. I'm humbled and thrilled by your very kind words regarding EVERYBODY LOVES EVIE. Nothing more wonderful than whisking someone away from reality for awhile and making them laugh.   Picture me happy dancing. Smile

Cheers!

Beth

hi Beth

Hi Beth.  Always exciting when we get an author drive-by!  I adore Evie!  Another blogger loved your book too.  I think you can find it through the xommunity search.  I really hope we will get treated to even more of Evie and Chameleon in the future. I just love this book.  Paisley (Merri)

Hey Paisley

I have this in my TBR mountain... somewhere, along with the other one. I'm going to have to dig them out.

Beth Ciotta

Lorie, these Evie stories are so much fun!

Merri...

I just picked this book up the other day and I'll get to it... once I can either work it into the February challenge or in March... whichever comes first.

I loved the first book too, for which I have Sharon H to thank ~ again ~ for that; these blogs have been such an inspiration for me!
Love, love, LOVE it!

kalyko ~ Reading: One of life's little joys and a much needed reward!

This one was so much fun.

This one was so much fun.  I agree about other bloggers.  Sometimes another blogger just pinpoints exactly what I want to hear to make a book stand out in a way the blurb doesn't.  I have had this Harlequin Historical on my shelves for some time.  The blurb was ok but sure enough, another blog I read last night told me what I needed to hear....up in the sooner TBR it goes!

Now I am wishing Feb. wasn't such a short month.  At first when I saw the Feb. mini-challenge topic I was sort of bummed thinking how in the owrld am I going to do this topic and manage to read what beckons to me and do the topic.  Then I decided to have fun with the topic and my reads and use the topic to explore, like a wall to bounce off of with ideas.  Now I see sooo many possibilities with this topic and I am getting bummed that Feb. is moving so fast.  If there is anything I love more than reading and writing about a book, it is comparing and making connections between books! For me, that is the real beauty of reading.
