The FireFighter and the Single Mom by Laura Iding

When FireFighter Austin Monroe is called to rescue the inhabitants of small cottages, he finds amongst them his late partner's widow, Nurse Lindsey Winters, and her young son.

They are made homeless by the fire, and Austin offers to let them stay with him - but Lindsey is determined to go it alone. Austin is equally determined to help them. Lindsey is in need of support adn friendship but Austin is fighting an intense attraction to Lindsey. He knows he's got to be patient, and needs to play it carefully - because what he really wants is to make their temporary arrangement permanent.

This was an interesting read. Austin helps Lindsey to get her son to open up and reveal what is going on in his mind since his dad died. I loved the bonding that occured between Austin and Josh.

Lindsey is also attracted to Austin but is daunted by his history of loving and leaving women. She has heard from her late husband numerous times and from his family that he is a man who has many girlfriends. The relationships that develops between the two and also in the way Austin interacts and bonds with her son is endearing to read. The way he understands and looks after the boy like a father does is so sweet.

You are reintroduced to the other members of the Monroe family when their father is admitted into hospital. You are given a glimpse into the family dynamics and what has been happening in the other members lives since their stories were told. I loved it.
