4 Stars! ~~~ I love Ms. Wylie’s sense of humour!
The Firefighter’s Chosen Bride by Trish Wylie
Harlequin Presents Promotional – August 2007
Previously published in the UK under the title White Hot!
...
Finn McNeil believes in disasters, bad things DO happen and they happen to her. Setting fire to her own home is right up there in the disaster department even if it was an accident. Living down the fact that she’d used a glass of vodka to douse the flames will take her a lifetime, as her father was a fireman, her brother is a fireman and his best friend is one too. So now Finn is homeless, and moving in with her brother and his best friend is her only option. Shane Dwyer is too sexy for his own good; his tall gorgeous looks and just the whole way he fills out his uniform screams babe magnet. Finn’s had a crush on him for a while, but she refuses to get involved because one; he’s her brother’s best friend and two; he’s a firefighter. Living under his roof, sparks their attraction and Shane is determined to shake up Finn’s resolve and break through. Shane’s been more of the love’m and leave’m type, but with Finn he can see forever if only she’d budge a little.
I love Ms. Wylie’s sense of humour! Hanging her big underpants in front of her fireplace to dry, and then throwing the burnt out candle ends into the fire creating sparks, and then trying to douse the flames with what she thought was water but turned out to be vodka! This is a scene that could have been out of I Love Lucy or Bridget Jones. :) Finn is a tall curvaceous girl who often feels frumpy; she’s always competed with her brothers and carries that competition with Shane as well. Shane is delightful. He thinks he has it all planned out, only for Finn to throw in a few screws to make it all so much more complicated. And yet behind all the fun are two very hurt people who have a lot of pain to get past before they can find their HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Well done!

WOW
Sounds like a good presents. Perhaps they are changing from the way too arrogant alpha males. I thought they were most European guys. This one sounds good and I like firemen stories. Thanks for the input
Jeannie
Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!
This is really a ModEx
Trish gave me the original book at RWA last summer. It was called White-Hot! Several ModExes were released in North America as Presents (I remember one of Julie Cohen's was in that batch) . . . so they really are the "other" book. Not to discourage you from giving Presents another try . . .

This really is a fantastic book
and it turned me onto Trish Wylie instantly. She's now an autobuy and favourite author.
Once I had read this book I knew that I badly wanted to get her Bride of the Emerald Isle and it was everything that I expected; indeed it was MORE. So yep, Trish Wylie was one of my top finds last year.

RE: THE FIREFIGHTER'S CHOSEN BRIDE by Trish Wylie
This one sounds too cool! It's a MUST READ, for sure!
As a little boy, i wanted to be a firefighter. My gramps was a volunteer firefighter, and a couple of me mates in high-school went on to become firefighters.

WOW!!!
LOVING YOU GUYS AROUND ABOUT NOW!!!
Thanks first and foremost to Katherine for gorgeous review! I'd read the book from that description you know...
LOL Penn and the cover! I have that cover on my shelf and I swear that man just can't take his eyes off me... sigh...
And yes it did start a tad of a debate last year didn't it? It's just so very very very lovely that you guys are still reading it! Huge squooshy hugs for that.
If you like I've been doing some behind the scenes stuff on my eharlequin Blog if anyone wants me to post it on this one? Just lemme know. Your wish is my command.
As to the twister scene - I may have mentioned it last year but that one very nearly got cut in the editing process. I had to fight and fight to keep it.
Sooooo glad it has proved popular. Makes all my pouting and stomping of feet worthwhile.
Am now slinking back to the deadline cave where I'm supposed to be. Chains round my ankles starting to chafe a tad tho.

Twister Scene...
Yup! I agree. That was a keeper. I loved that scene.
With the Valentine's deal today, I ordered the Presents I missed on Feb first. Beware of scrolling... I wasn't expecting there to be more books on the Presents page so I never scrolled all the way down. Imagine my surprise when I did a week after my order. Me, miss a Trish Wylie book? I was angry at myself and told myself that if it was sold out before I got my hands on it, I would be angry at myself. Now, it's on its way... Yahooooooooo. and thank you for the Valentine's day free shipping...
