firefly lane

I stayed up until 2am to finish this book!  And it was well worth it!!  Even if my husband did wake up a few times and ask me what I was doing and why I was reacting so strongly.  I laughed out loud, I sobbed at the end!  I loved this book.

This book will definitely be among my top faves forever.

firefly lane  is about two best friends.  kate is the good, smart, wholesome bookworm with the stable nuclear family.  tully is wild and beautiful and comes from a very mixed up home.  tully, in short, is the cool girl that we all wanted to be/or be friends with.

they are friends through everything for thirty years.  even though kate chooses marraige and motherhood and tully becomes a mega-rich media sensation.

this book is real and honest and delves into all the emotions women feel.  the thing i love most is that kateandtully grew up in the 70s and 80s, as i did.  they listen to the music (abba, madonna, prince) and talk about david cassidy being groovy.  they acknowledge all of the ways that society has changed in the last 30 years and the book shows how they change with the times.  it's fantastic!
