This is the third book in the series by Paula Graves. Iris Browning is an empath who can not only feel the pain of others but heal that pain. Unfortunately the pain becomes hers temporarily. Maddox Heller is a hardened former Marine and a reclusive millionaire with a guarded past.
Iris was to join her friend Sandrine on Mariposa island for a week in the sun but she is missing. When she goes to the police to report Sandrine missing they are not really interested in finding her since she has only been missing for a short time. Iris decides to look for her on her own but Maddox becomes involved in the hunt. Sandrine is a medium and had gone to Mariposa island to attend a conference that catered to people interested in psychic phenomena. Iris discovered that Sandrine had been invited to be a part of a "focus" group the day before with several others and none of them have been seen since. Suddenly Iris found herself the object of a murderer. She has to turn to Maddox for help since no one else seems to be interested in helping.
This book is exciting and if you like suspense this is a good one to read. You do not need to read the first two books to enjoy it.
