From the back cover: He had a secret daughter?
Computer programmer consultant, Parker Hamilton, lives an almost reclusive life in his Pacific coast mansion but that is about to change. Parker's housekeeper, Kiki, announces he has a female visitor. Kiki is always trying to set him up with one of her friends but he is not interested. Thinking this visitor is another of her "friends" he says "not interested". Kiki insists he see the woman. In the interests of getting back to his computer programming he agrees to see the woman. He has no idea his life is going to change forever.
Erin Ridgeway is approaching Parker without having any idea how he will react to the news that he has a four year old daughter. The information that Parker is Christie's father recently became known or Erin would have contacted him long ago. Will he believe her that the one night he spent with her twin sister, Stacey, resulted in a child?
After Stacey's death due to complications during childbirth, Erin became Christie' sole parent. The little girl has brought untold joy to Erin's life but also sadness that Stacey kept her pregnancy a secret and that Erin had to parent her alone. A move finally forced Erin to go through Stacey's belongings and to read her journal. Reading the journal gave Erin the name of Christie's father. Erin feels that he has a right to know he has a daughter.
Will Parker embrace fatherhood, can he love Christie unconditionally, will he finally put his wife's death behind him and embrace love and life?
This book was orginally published in 1996 & reissued in 2006. The story has held up to the test of time. There were some things that dated it but did not distract from the story itself.
