Though they carry an eternal curse, the Lords of the Underworld are irresistibly seductive--and unimaginably powerful....

My Review:

I really enjoyed this novella.  I thought Gena Showalter did a terrific job of developing the characters with a smaller word count.  I am now very much looking forward to her upcoming books in this world!

Wrapped and Ready by Julie KennerWrapped an Ready by Julie Kenner (Harlequin Mini, 2007)

Copied Blurb:

Blaze author Julie Kenner (The Perfect Score) spins an enchanting tale of holiday seduction between a department store magnate and a pretty elf-for-hire.

My Review:

This one wasn't my favorite.  I found it went slow at parts.  I never fell in love with the H, perhaps because he seemed a bit wimpy??  The story did end well.

My Rating: 2.5

The Wedding Dress by Sherryl WoodsThe Valentine Wedding Dress by Sherryl Woods (Harlequin Mini, 2008)

Copied Blurb:

Her unexpected discovery soon turns her world upside down and makes her second-guess everything she's ever believed about her mother and about love. Will it lead her straight into Dave Lafferty's arms--or make her turn away from the love of a lifetime?

My Review:

What a sweet, wonderful short story!  I loved it!!  Once again, I was amazed at how much an author can put into such a small word count.  This story was the shortest of all the stories I read here, at only 25 pages, yet had so much heart in it.

My Rating: 4.5

re: The Darkest Fire

I missed the Gena Showalter novella until I saw your review--I will definitely check this out.  I don't always like the romance/sex-heavy paranormals but I've enjoyed Showalter's romantic comedies so it's worth a try!

I enjoyed your reviews of all these minis...I forgot we could post these so I'll have to go back and see if I have enough of the Spice Briefs read to make one "book".

Hey Lady_Amalthea!

Hey Lady_Amalthea!

Nice to see you!!  I am not totally sure whether or not you would like this prequel to Showalters Lords of the Underworld series.  But I think you might enjoy the world building she provided.  I am pretty curious how far she will take it.

Thank you....I am glad you enjoyed my reviews!  I was able to post only 4 here, since the Showalter was a little longer, but the last Spice Brief post I did, I had to include 6 Briefs.  I would love to see your reviews of the Spice Briefs you have read.  It was your reviews last year that spurred me to buy a few, and now I think I have close to a dozen.  It is really nice to read shorter stories here and there.

Talk to you soon!

Tammy
