Getting Rid of Bradley by Jennifer Crusie

Getting Rid of BRADLEY by Jennifer Crusie, Temptation, #480, February 1994

book coverLucy Savage caught her husband, Bradley, cheating on her in her own house. So she divorced him and changed her hair color to blonde. But as a blonde she was shot at and assaulted Zack Warren, a cop when he was trying to protect her from the bullet. So she changed her hair colour to black. When her hair was green her car blew up, finally convincing her that someone was trying to kill her. Lucy refused to leave her home so Zack moved in with her in order to protect her. But can they resist temptation?

This was a fun read. Zack had to try and convince Lucy they were talking about the same Bradley and then try and convince her that someone was trying to kill her. This book had me laughing from the beginning to end. Both Lucy and Zack grew in this book. I don't know why it took me so long to try Jennifer Crusie but this is getting remedied right know because I've started Charlie All Night.

Hi Christa

I read this books years ago and found it delightful then. She is a fave author of mine. Glad you enjoyed it.

Jeannie

Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!

Christa...

... so glad that you've joined the Crusie Club... (I just made that up BTW Wink).
You're right, this really is a laugh-out-loud story from the first word right to the end.  I really love Crusie's humour.  Charlie All Night is another of my top favourites by this author ~ Manhunting is also a hilarious romp.  Enjoy!

This...

is one of my all time faves by her.  I'm not a fan of her larger books but her Harlequin imprints include some of the funniest books ever written!

This one sounds like a lot

This one sounds like a lot of fun, Christa.  How does Temptation compare to Desire?  Different or alike?

Jeannie- Bradley was the

Jeannie- Bradley was the first Crusie I tried but it won't be the last.

Kalyko- Right now I'm reading Charlie All Night and loving it. Looks like i'll be on the look out for another new author (and hug going out to Tammy for "pushing" me to try Crusie)

Debi- Since this is my first book by her, I don't know how they compare

Merri- This was a fun read. I'm not sure when Temptations ended(I have one from November 2004) If you were to compare them to Desires then, Desires were tamer. So Temptations seemed to fit between Blazes and Desires. But with Desires getting bolder and bolder and they seemed to close the gap between them and Blaze and became more like Temptations. So say 5 years ago they weren't similiar but if you were to take a Desire from nowadys it may have more in common with a Temptation.

Harlequin Temptations

I own them all  ..... the first was a promotional launch in December 1983 written by Maris Soule titled "First Impressions"  ... the actual first Temptation imprint was released in March 1984 written by LaVryle Spencer titled "Spring Fancy"  ..... the line came to an end June 2005 with it's 1028 edition written by Leslie Kelly titled "Her Last Temptation:

I always found Tempations to be a lovely mix of romances, usually set in the U.S.  .... the sensuality was more than Romances but not quite as hot as Blazes, except in the last years when they introduced the Blaze theme   .... many of the authors from Temptation moved on to write for Blaze or on to HQN   ... I found most Temptations to be a nice light read, they were feel goods with some nice heat ... some were down right hilarious ... they were not intense like Presents or now the new Desires   ....  think of the UK's Modern Extras ...  the characters are not over the top wealthy ... they're ordinary people on the rise   ... I think the new Blaze theme called "Blush" is meant to be like the former Temptations

I love Crusie's

I love Crusie's humour and like everyone else before me love this one, Charlie, and Manhunting. Love the reference to the Crusie Club, very clever, there. I've also enjoyed her books with Bob Mayer.

Crusie's debut Manhunting

Crusie's debut Manhunting was my first read of hers...and is still my top favorite...with many others following close behind.

I love Jennifer Crusie's

I love Jennifer Crusie's books. Manhunting was my first and for a long time my favorite. Bradley is very funny, but aren't all her books? :-) And I so miss the Temptation line. Tell me more about Blush. I'm curious.
