Well, well, well. I'm quite pleased to be here yet again today to mention that....
I'M UP TO 362 BOOKS... and I'm going to be doing my darnedest to finish the year off with a grand total of 400 read for the 2008 100,000 Book Challenge.
After reviewing book #361 I was thinking that I'd have to read up a storm to be able to read 39 more this month. Well now it's down one to 38 books that I'll be trying to achieve for the rest of the month. It seemed as though that may be really putting myself out into not-gonna-be-able-to-do-it territory, but I have a plan! And a lot more hope as well.
- I'm not going to be babysitting as much during the rest of the month ~ three
days next week and then nothing more 'til December 29th. - The last four books have been from the B-I-G plastic case in our "other" room;
not only am I making my way through my harlequin TBR, but they're, overall, shorter
books... I figure I can read about 2 a day. With 19 more days to go... okay 18, it's
probably quite do-able. - Um... I guess that's it ~ or at least that's all my brain is capable of processing right now.
It's just after midnight and I'm getting very, very sleepy... but I will be taking another book
to bed. Whether or not I'll start reading tonight I don't know... but I'll give it a try. It's another
Harlequin American Romance, so I should be able to finish it in about 3 hours.
See, I knew I had a plan!!

Good Planning
Are you getting the snow and cold Calgary is getting? If so it's another reason to stay in and read. I'm on an overnight kids sitting at my niece's so I come into here but don't go anywhere else on their computer.

You can do it .. You can do it ... You can do it .....
Kathy, you are doing awesome! ..... I'm impressed with the fact that you'll have read at least one book a day for 2008! Far out!

No more excuses, just READ!
Great Job Kathy!!
I know you can do it! Impressive numbers by the way.
I was hoping to read more books than I did last year but for some reason I'm finding it hard to find the time to just sit down and read, read, read this year. Last year I think I read about 126 books. Unfortunately I've only managed to read 46 so far.
I do however have a couple of books to review so I'll have to get another 2 read to make it an even 50.
Hopefully I'll do a lot better next year!
Congrats Kathy on your impressive number.

That is a great total so far!! I am hoping that I will reach my goal of 150 and since I am about done with school for this term so I am looking forward to relaxing with a good book.

Thank you!
Kaelee, yep... snow we've had over the last week or so. Nothing like last year at this time ~ Hallelujah! ~ but up until today it's been warm. Never below -5 or so... and slushy, slushy streets.
I thought I had put those behind me when I moved back to Edmonton from Calgary 25 years ago... guess not.
But yeah, temps down to -25 (and -33 or so with windchill) *shudder*... so no slush. Now I just have to acclimate to the temperature. I have to say though, I much prefer -25 to +25... NO comparison to my mind!
Of course my mom tells us about when we were little ~ mostly my brother Mike and myself ~ and living in Northern Quebec and Northern Ontario. My dad was in the Air Force and in winter temperatures would get down to -60.... Didn't bother Mike and I at all... but then we were warmly dressed and little kids... what did we know? LOL
Thanks Katherine... I'm going to need to remind myself of that, but I'm determined to do it. I'm very much looking forward to the challenge... and of course reading the books doesn't hurt either!
Sadhbh, that sounds great! Nothing like having someone working at the same thing to help keep the effort going... although it's not really going to be an effort.... And I'd love to share smarmy grins with you!
Shelley, thank you! But y'know it's not the number so much as the fact that you're DOING it ~ that's what really counts. My numbers aren't as high this year, but I'm having fun... and that's what it's all about, right?
Hey Tiffany! Oh I bet you're just dying to be done with school and getting to have a chance to sit back with a good book ~ or twelve ~ and go to town! I'll stop by and see how you're doing!
And I just have to say, once again, that you all are the absolute best and You RULE!!
