I can't comment on the blog

I can't comment on the blog because I would need to register.  So I'm commenting here.  I'm a last minute packer.  Drives my mother crazy hen I visit her.  I spend the last afternoon packing for an early morning trip.

Frenchie

LOL  Your poor mom.  Send her my sympathies, because it makes me nervous as well!  LOL  Of course, I do freely admit my need to earliness gives other people hives!

Good news is, when I come stoning in France, you'll know I'll be packed early for the trip! LOL

I'm a last minute packer

but I am organized as I have made a list of everything I will need starting with my underclothes etc. My Dh always has his stuff picked out ahead of time but I just go through my list and add what I want at the last minute. We have a basic list we use and then have a list for the trip for special things. I find if I don't have a list I leave too many things behind. After losing our luggage once we always make sure we have some basics in our carry-on luggage. Have a great time in SF.

When I get a little money I buy books, and then if any is left I buy food and clothes..-- Erasmus

Kaelee

Kaelee,

Having all the necessities in your carry-on is a great suggestion!  I always make sure I have my meds with me.  Anything else I can buy!

I'm a leave-it-to-my dh

I'm a leave-it-to-my dh (well, I will gather my things at the last minute) since he has better visual/spatial ability to cram pack.Wink

Nancy

Nancy's Husband

Oh, Nancy, nice dh!!  My dh is a lovely, lovely man.  But his idea of packing is a couple pair of shorts and t-shirts.  I'm sure he'd "thin" my pile of things in order to "help" me.  LOL  That's why I pack.  LOL

I'll post here rather than the blog today

I didn't want to make you go to the blog for my response, LOL

I'm going to try to save up for next year at DC. I'm not sure if I will be able to manage it because my dh said the next trip anyone in the family takes has to be a family one. My dh and dd would have lots to do in DC but to afford all of us going would be expensive. However, DC is close enough we could drive to it so we wouldn't have to rent a car or buy plane tickets.

All I know is that I had a blast in Pittsburgh and would love the chance to go to an RWA gathering.

Thursday!

Orchid, Thanks!!  LOL

Kim, Oh, I so hope can make it.  The driving part makes it so much more affordable.  I'll keep my fingers crossed!  DC does make a great family vacation.  That's where we went in June...had a blast!!

Kim and Frenchie

Frenchie, That was to the point!  LOL  But it was a good idea.

Kim, maybe if you told him to put a sock in it (the suitcase) along with some clothes he can put the suitcase in the car and drive you to DC next year for the conference. Once you're there and have a hotel for the conference, there's not a lot of expense for your dh and dd as they go around the city and see the sights.
