Hart's Victory

Just finished this book.  I loved how tenacious Hart was in chasing Kellie.  The more I read these NASCAR books, I find myself wondering what the lure is.  I have several friends who are true NASCAR fans, and live for race days.  I tried to watch the Daytona 500 this weekend, but found the commercials distracting. Must be better on a sports station dedicated to the sport.

RE: Hart's Victory

Patti,

I don't think I was really into NASCAR until a few years ago. My friend Susan (she's in the dedication) is a huge fan and she hooked me. Unlike rooting for a team, it's very driver oriented, and you have to know who your driver is and what car he's in and who's around him--it took a bit for me to catch on as well. I cheer for #88 and #99. And if you think TV is confusing, imagine being at the track where they don't really announce anything... and you don't get instant replay. That's why you see fans with headphones on--they're listening to their race scanners. I admit to being more of the couch potato fan although being at the track is fun--it's like being at a party with your 100,000 plus closest friends.

As for the allure, could you not tell how in love with Hart Hampton I am? I wish he were real...

Thanks for reading and good luck on your book challenge!
