It is a gift that may cost him everything.
Blurb:
All his life, Jonah Gray Wolf has had and uncanny connection to animals and the power to heal the sick and wounded. Driven from the only home he’s ever known by those who wish to harness his gifts for profit, he becomes a drifter, working in out-of-the-way towns, never staying long. It’s a lonely life, but Jonah knows he’s still being hunted--he can’t afford to get close to anyone who might learn his secret.
In West Virginia he finds Luce, a tough but beautiful loner who knows all about keeping people at a distance--a kindred soul with whom he might dare to make a life. But the hunters have caught Jonah’s scent again. Danger is coming to their mountain refuge--a confrontation that will be decided only by a force of nature.
My thoughts:
This was a very enjoyable read! I decided to pick it up because it takes place in my home state of West Virginia which is a rare in well written romance books. I also love books where one of the characters share a special bond with animals and along with being a good hearted person the H was a very enjoyable character all around. His powers he had with being able to heal, communicate with animals, and basically have power over the bad guys was a delight! And him being a lonely soul meeting up with the h who also was a lonely soul was perfect they made a great couple. I loved some of the side characters especially Bridie. This was the kind of book that I was very easily able to loose myself in. There were also a few surprises thrown in regarding those doing the hunting and a stalker the h had. Always a plus! Major talent here!
Mini challenge: New to Me: This author was a new author to me, I picked it up because of the interesting blurb and it taking place in my home state. This was a very well written book, I have another by her somewhere and will for sure read more by her in the future.

RE: THE HEALER by Sharon Sala
It sounds TOTALLY excellent! I really like stories where there is healing and/or animals and/or what sounds like Inuit or Native American people.

Sharon Sala
I just picked this one up yet. Sala is an autobuy author so I didn't even read the blurb but just made sure it was not a reprint. Now reading your review, I want to read it right away!

Hi Marty
I think you will very much enjoy this. The hero is indeed a native american from Alaska.

Hi Debi
After reading this I am tempted to go back and find some of her other books this was such a well written book. I know she has to have others just as good. I've been known to just buy books by authors without looking at the blurb you know there are certain ones who just don't let you down.

Other books
I'm looking forward to reading this one. Have you read Dreamcatcher? I remember reading that one a long time ago, and it was really good. She has a lot of good books.

I saw the West Virginia part
I saw the West Virginia part here too and put this one in my soon list. The blurb on this one really appealed. I only lived in Charleston for several years on vacations from school but still.... I can't wait to read this one.
