Heidi and Anderson

Okay, so I promised to let you all know first...unfortunately, it's not good news.  Anderson and Heidi's story got shot down.  And I feel bad mainly because so many of you wanted to know their stories...so, here's what happened:

Heidi and her husband were having problems...you see, she couldn't seem to say no to anyone, which is why she was PTA president and did so many other jobs around the school.  But she realizes that her marriage matters most and says she's done volunteering...after she finishes chairing a dance at the school.  Her husband tells her he is willing to help...dads can volunteer, too.  And that is Heidi's light-bulb moment...Dads can help, too!  Which is why....

Anderson brother-in-law, Chuck (the cop in Once Upon a Valentine's) has to go to the FBI Academy for work, and Anderson volunteers to help out Carly...to basically fill in for Chuck.  And that's how he finds himself volunteering on the all Dad PTA committee...he's chair of the Christmas Fair.  He meets Gannon Cooper, a pregnant mom who's got a eleven year old who has some problems at school.  He takes Gannon's son under his wing, and he and Gannon...well, after some ups and downs, they live happily-ever-after and Anderson gets the family he always wanted!  (PS Carly and Chuck have a baby, too!)

And Heidi and her dh lived happily-ever-after, too.

I'm already working on another American idea!  I love the line and have another idea perking!

So, thanks everyone who asked me for Anderson's story...my big disappointment was that you all worried about him and Heidi.  I know this isn't quite what you wanted...but I hope it helps.  Thanks!

Kaelee,

These things happen in publishing.  Most of the time, I don't mention it, but truth be told, ideas have been shot down for a variety of reasons.  And if I hadn't promised to tell you all, I'd probably not even have mentioned it, but I promised.  And hey, now you know what happened!  LOL

Imagination... the magical whispers from within.

So sorry & surprised...

Bigs hugs on your new story being a no go. I'm so surprised since the series seemed to do so well. I enjoyed reading all three stories. Do they at least tell you what isn't working in the proposal? I hope so. Nothing's worse than not knowing what you did wrong.

Thanks for letting us know what happens with these other characters. Looking forward to you next American.

Thanks for sharing, in short

Thanks for sharing, in short form, what happened with Heidi and Anderson, but really! How could they not want the stories? Thanks so much for trying!

Heidi and Anderson

Hey, seriously, guys...I've had story ideas nixed before.  You just never know because I don't say anything.  LOL  It's part of the business.  Like I said, if you all hadn't asked specifically for Anderson and Heidi, I'd've never said anything.  So, no worries.  I

And really, thanks for wanting more of their stories.  That's absolutely the biggest complement a writer can get...when someone wants more of a story or a character.  It means that I managed to translate how real they were on my head to making them that real on the page!  So, all is well.

Holly,

Cry  But I WANT these stories!  (BTW, I could be Heidi.  Although it wasn't really marital trouble, DH and I have had a few tense moments over my volunteering so much with PTA -- and volunteering him, too!  I lived that exact moment, in elementary when they wanted me to do year #2 as president, and I told them I was afraid my DH would divorce me if I said yes.  I exaggerated a bit, but he wouldn't have been happy.  He really wouldn't have been happy, since at that level I basically was a one woman show.  And it was the only way to get them to back off!)  He had learned to cope with my involvement a bit better by the time DD got to middle and then H.S.!

it's good to know

what happened with them instead of wondering.  At least you gave us something to think about Smile

You're dealing with the

You're dealing with the rejection better than we are, Holly.  I loved the premise, and since your original series did so well, I can't imagine why they shot this idea down.  Go figure.  The mysteries of the publishing business.Undecided

Sorry

JV, Hugs.  Saying no...it's a lesson I think most women have to learn.  And they just don't learn it once, they learn it again and again...

Marcie, Well, I promised you all, so, I'm glad you're not wondering now.  Anderson was very happy and had a big family!

Frenchie, LOL  Yeah, I suspect I've had more practice with rejections than you!  LOL  But honestly, every story I've written has come into play one way or another...  And I've got other books in the pipeline, so you guys aren't done hearing from me yet!

BTW, my February Super got it's official title...A One-of-a-Kind Family.  So there's that, and before it Unexpected Gifts in November.

Holly, I am bummed that

Holly,

I am bummed that Andy and Heidi didn't get their stories as well.  Andy was such a strong character.  I imagine being a writer you have to deal with this, but hiss boo is right.  Well, I will be looking for your Super in November.

Cady

Thank You, Holly!

While I'd have loved having the longer version, thank you so much for giving us the reader's digest version. Knowing that Anderson has his own story is almost enough. I love the name Gannon and wished we knew more about her, like who the baby's daddy is and why he left her high and dry, but I shall live.

Rae

Thanks

Cady, Yes, getting a story nixed is something writers get used to.  The only thing to do is pick up and move on to the next story.  As much as I hate losing an opportunity, I'm pretty zen about it.  This time, it was so much worse, because I had all of you looking forward to Anderson's story, and a pile of letters about him, too.  I hate disappointing all of you!  But thanks for watching for my November book.  I'm really hoping you like the hero of that one, Zac, as well.

Rae, LOL  Well, at least you know Anderson's happy and has a family!

thanks for the update Hall.

thanks for the update Hall. 'm sorry the stories aren't making it to print but it's ALMOST enough just to know Anderson finds his ahppiness and a family to love and that Heidi and her DH work things out.

Holly

I'm sorry that the powers to be turned down Anderson and Heidi stories.  Here's a nice cup of tea and some cake to soften the blow.  I was looking forward to reading about their relationships.  The short synopsis was good but longer is better.

Looking foward to your next book Unexpected Gifts.

Nothing more relaxing than a good book and a cup of tea.

Thanks

Thanks, Kelley and BB!  I'm not phased by a pass.  I've already got most of a new story idea worked out...keep your fingers crossed, okay?
