The Heir's Convenient Wife(May 08)

Contracted: his high-society bride

Blurb:

The Wedding Belle’s photographer, Regina, captures picture-perfect memories for brides and grooms to treasure. But looking at her own wedding photos makes her realize she barely knows the man she conveniently wed…

Dell O’Ryan was always brought up to do the right thing, to be responsible. So when his no-good cousin landed the beautiful Regina in a whole heap of trouble, Dell stepped in to save the day.

One convenient marriage later, they are practically strangers, and now Dell has decided it’s time to date his wife…

My thoughts:

I had some ups and downs with this story. First I couldn’t help being very annoyed with the h quite often. When the H wants to actually give their marriage a try instead of casting her off or agreeing to the divorce she approaches him with she sulks and plays the “poor me” card. I realize she had a horrible situation regarding her ex and what he caused her to go through but some women could have had it worse. I mean oh my goodness a handsome rich man tries to help her by marrying her and actually wants to get to know her. She was constantly throwing his well known name in his face and his status of being so called “a higher person” than her. It was clear the he found her attractive and never jumped on her or got angry with her over some of her blubbering situations with his “higher class” friends. I found his patience with her very endearing and found myself really liking him. The fact that he was patient with her “poor me” situations was great. Anytime he complimented her she got upset which I could not understand that. But as things progressed and they got to know each other, there was a side to her that was appealing with her wanting to help those less fortunate than herself. This has a sweet and romantic ending. I could see there is another book before this but if I tracked down books every time I found myself in the middle of a series that is all I would be doing so I will just deal with it and move on to the next in this series which looks good.

Mini-Challenge:        Does he fit the story? Yes. Does he suit the heroine? I thought he did but it took a long time for her to appreciate him.  Would he suit me? Yes I found him to be very endearing and who could pass up a sexy, rich man who is willing to take a chance with someone "below" his social status. Did he fit the man on the cover and who would be a good actor? Um no I really never got a picture of the man on the cover in my head and I really can't think of a real life actor to fit him.

I hope to get to the May HRs

I hope to get to the May HRs soon. I read the first one by Shirley Jump and loved it. Pretty fun one with the science/nerd hero.  But I do know what you mean about series and having to go back.  I always find a series I like when the first book is no longer available.

hi

as for the 'oh poor me' my sisters comment would be 'Wahhhh'  stop whining.   I hate it when all the h does is feel sorry for themself and not do anything about it.

Yes I am a readalholic and I don't want the 12 step program!!!

Hi Jayejean

The h eventually did set aside some of her pain but never really let him forget who he was and never had enough faith in herself or saw that he truly cared about her and it made it hard for me to like her. I saw some good blogs on this book and wonder if it was just me.Undecided

lol but the wahhh part that is hilarious sometimes I think stuff like that to myself and its not always the heroine that brings those thoughts.

Now you are making me more

Now you are making me more curious. I'm not much in the modd for a waaahhh heroine right now (seen to much of that in real life lately) but hope to get these May HRs read soon.

Its funny because I saw

Its funny because I saw other blogs from people that liked this book. The heroine did go through a devastating experience but I have seen some go through those experiences and come out in much worse scenerios(sp) than this one.
