Her Christmas Protector

Threats from her abusive ex-husband sent Faith running as far from her former life as she could possibly get.  A random small town on a bus route looked like as good a place as any to stop for a while.

Immediately Faith finds room, board, and a job on Luke Campbell’s out-of-the-way ranch.  She knows that his life is back overseas with the Army and hers will sooner or later mean moving out of her ex-husband’s reach again, so getting involved with Luke is just asking for emotional pain not to mention endangering him and his family.  Luke, on the other hand, thinks he’s found in Faith what his life’s been missing and maybe he’s done in the Army what he needed to do and it’s time for him to become a civilian.

The romance storyline was good, but the suspense was really good!  You always know who’s ultimately behind the creepy stuff going on, but the way Ms. Reed writes it makes you want to keep turning the pages anyway.  While I didn’t feel the urge to finish the book in one sitting, it’s going on the keeper shelf as a good suspense story.
