Her Pregnancy Surprise by Susan Meier
Baby on Board • A good story
Oct 2007, 192 pgs
Harlequin Romance (Mobipocket eBook)
#22 - 03.11.08—03.14.08
• Grace is the new star employee at Carson Services. She’s chosen to spend a week a the boss’ beach house with her boss, Danny Carson, and a famous basketball player whom she convinces to use Carson Services’ financial management. This part happens before the story starts. It starts with Danny asking her to stay over the weekend for a debriefing. It turns out to be a very intimate debriefing, and though they used protection, Grace becomes pregnant.
• Danny thinks that Grace’s news about being pregnant is a scheme, so he turns her away, rather ruthlessly.
I enjoyed this story and the characters. The plot was good. The author used a little too much “tell” where she could have used more “show”, but it’s still a good read.
Some good lines: “But he wasn’t meant for relationships and she wasn’t meant for affairs.” “His money didn’t make him the special prize he seemed to believe he was.” These two lines say so much about Danny’s character.
I didn’t read the third in the Snowstorm Heat eBundle because it’s 4th in a series and I might want to read the others first. It’s Susan Wiggs’ Snowfall on Willow Lake, The Lakeshore Chronicles, 432 pgs. I have Book 2, Winter Lodge, it won best Romance for 2007 on Amazon. So I might look for Book 1, Summer At Willow Lake, and Book, Dockside (mixed reviews on this one).
Counts: Harlequin = 21 • Other = 1 • Total = 22
