Look at this Folks!!!
Yep, it worked! YAY! And the family loved it. I used to make it years ago(obviously if you look at my last post) but then the kids were young and not interested in eating it. So this was a very nice bonus.
So here is the recipe I got from a Weight Watchers magazine years ago:
2 pkgs dry yeast
1/3 cup honey
1 cup warm water (105-115)
1 cup half and half
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 3/4 cups white flour(approx.)
Dissolve yeast & honey in water–let stand for about 5 minutes.
(Now this can depend on the type of yeast you are using. This time I
used a rapid rise all natural yeast, dissolved it in the liquids,
immediately adding the other ingredients. The directions however on the
yeast said to add to the dry. *shrug* It worked either way
)
Add milk, eggs — blend well.
Add whole wheat flour & salt, blending well.
Gradually stir in enough flour, 1/2 cup at a time to form soft dough.
Knead 5-10 minutes - on well floured surface until smooth and elastic.
Place in large bowl coated with cooking spray - coat top - cover - let rise in warm place about 45 minutes.
Knead 4-5 times, divide into 3 equal portions(I did two but for the
Weight Watchers points to work it needs to be 3 - 1 point per 1/2 inch
slice then) make rectangle, roll and place in coated pans, cover and
let rise.
Preheat oven to 375 - Bake for approx. 20 minutes - remove from pans immediately and EAT!
Yummy!

Thank God for my bread-maker machine! Ha ha. I could never make beautiful bread like this by the sweat of my hands... but then, I'm one of those poor misfortunates who can burn water! LOL
Your bread looks scrumptious!

LOL Amanda
I've burned water before too just to let you know. I think one of my worst moments(notice I said 'one of'--there are lots
) on that front was once when I was trying to boil some eggs. Seems simple enough doesn't it? Put some water in a pan, add the eggs, boil...?
Yeah well...I didn't add enough water and well...kind of forgot about them too...next thing I know we hear this sort of popping, sizzling, crackling sound from the kitchen. The eggs--ALL of them--had exploded. Literally! The entire kitchen was plastered from floor to ceiling with eggs. Think bomb. It was truly a mess.

Well, I melted a pan on my mother's stove. And my mother tried to make Boston Baked Beans in a pressure cooker, which exploded all over the kitchen.

exploding eggs
I've not exploded eggs before though my mom has. She was making hard boiled aggs and forgot al abotu them until they exploded all over her ceiling. I did almost explode some less thana year ago though. I was making some and forgot aboutthem. When i finally remembered, the water was all cooked up. Had it been a little longer and I'd have had exploded eggs too I'm sure.
I melted a microwave safe rubbermaid container in teh microwave this week though. i was making one of those rice a roni type side dishes and it said you could make it in the microwave. so I decided to try it that way since I was in a hurry. When I went to pull out the dish for something, the rice was burned into a clump. I thought it was stuck to the butter or something. Nope As I'm holding the dish, I started feeling this burning on my feet. Looked down and the rice had brned a hole in the bottom of the container and was falling out one or two grains at a time all over my flip flops and fet. That hurt! That's when realized the rice clump was actualy a piece of plastic from the botom of the container that all the rice was stuck too!
