An ex-Marine, now a P.I. hired to investigate a runaway, gets a surprise when the sister is the one woman he couldn't forget.
After Victoria, Tori, Hamilton's father is murdered she comes home from England with her 5 year old daughter Esme. Her brother Jared is accused of the murder but Tori knows there is no way he would have done it.
John Miglionni, Marine name Rocket, has been hired to find a runaway teenager accused of murdering his father. What a surprise when he reaches the Hamilton estate to find former lover, Tori, the one woman that changed his mind about love 'em and leave 'em!! Before meeting Tori John had quite a rep with the ladies but something about her was very special.
What a story! Susan Andersen certainly kept my attention while reading this. Does John manage to find Jared, is he safe, does Tori come clean about the secret she kept for 5 years, is Jared's streetwise companion able to reunite with her mother and who did kill the very wealthy Ford Evans Hamilton? One of the best scenarios in this book is John playing "Raccoon Ants Mission" with Esme and "Swishy Ken, Rapunzel Barbie, Pop Sensation Ken" and a host of other Barbie dolls. Talk about a good laugh while at the same time very endearing. This has to be one of my favorite Susan Andersen books!

Grr
Drat. I went to put this on my Amazon wish list, but it looks like it's out of print. I'll have to check the library, though mine isn't very well supplied with romance. Great review, though. You had me sold!

Lori, the library here in Healdsburg has zip on romance! I have donated a ton of paperbacks to their sales but I don't think they ever integrate any of them into circulation. They do have Danielle Steele books & probably Nora Roberts but they are the hardback copies. I rarely go in there because they just don't have what I want. You would probably have better luck at an USB. They are great for older books. Susan Andersen is a talent!! Of course, so are you.
