How Do You All Do It?

I am sitting here looking at all the posts in the Recent Posts section and wondering how you all can read so many books and post in so many places on the site. It takes me so much time to look for everyone and post my thoughts on things that I haven't had time to read.

I'm amazed at your organization because I just can't seem to do both. Right now I am really addicted to figuring this place out so I am spending hours here. Hopefully, when things are smoothed out, I will be able to get back on track. So far I have been able to read three books and I'm working on number four. I hope I can finish it today.

How do you all do it?

There's simply just got to be a lot of people, Margie.  That's what I'm telling myself as I see my measly 3 books and a total going on 500 now!

One of my resolutions is to read more, but I'm under deadline right now and that makes it hard.  I probably won't make a hundred this year, but if I make it through a book a week I'll be happy.

And I have about 5 threads I normally visit and I favourited them all, so that saves time.

Cheers,

Donna

Hello Donna

Good luck on the book and on reading while you are at it. Oh wow, 500! I had not even looked at the total read lately.

I just right now discovered the My Favorites button and what a handy tool that is. It shows new posts and I can now stop trying to find all the places I've been at and going in to check if anyone has responded. That was taking so much of my time.

Now all I have to do is go find all my comments and save them to My Favorites.

Take care,
Margie :)

Where to find comments

I finally figured out how to find all my comments.  If you look under your profile, it actually has a section called My Comments.  You can click on each comment and if there are new ones, it goes to those and actually says new on them.  That saved me a bunch of time once I figured that out.  Hope that helps!

Debi

An even better way to see your comments and to see if there is a response is to put that discussion in you My Favorites. Then to see if anyone has commented, you go to you profile and click the link that says My Favorites. It is the one above My Friends to the right. I love that I know when someone has commented. Thanks to Cady and Kathy D for their help finding that. And also to Scott from eHarlequin.

Margie

Doesn't it work the same way?

Or am I just completely techno challenged?  Cause you still have to look at the actual discussion, right? Then again, my brain is fuzzy from this nasty cold I have so I'm blaming all my stupidity on the cold!!!!

Debi - My comments

Debi: When you say "My comments" is that the same as "My recent comments"?  Because "My recent comments only shows me my comments on blog entries, not on book review posts--and I love to follow up on book reviews, so this is frustrating!  If I should be looking somewhere else, let me know...

Margie - thanks for the suggestion about adding to "my favourites".  I wish there were an easier way but I'll do that for now--great idea!

Comments

I was clicking on the my comments to go to threads I'd commented on but I did add a couple to my favorites so they'd be there if more were added. I'm going to figure this out eventually. But I have spent a lot of time going back and forth. Time I could be reading or posting books. I still have three more books to post.

My Comments...

Yeah, I meant my recent comments.  And I thought it went to the ones for book reviews too but maybe I'm wrong.  I'll have to check.... I'm still figuring out what I'm doing here and well, not doing so well!!  LOL

Darn!

You're totally right, Lady A!  And here I thought I was keeping up with them.  Okay, going to start adding to favorites although truthfully that is annoying.

re: my recent comments

Yeah, I missed a bunch before I realized it was only tracking blog post comments and not review comments...grrrrr!  I agree adding to favourites is a pain and there should be another way...

I think one reason I didn't notice...

Is that I periodically go through all my friends and their reviews show under their blogs so I check those out.  If they have enough where there is a more button, you click on that and it pulls up a page that shows a snippet of each blog/review and if there are new comments.  But even that is a pain to go through regularly.

Change

I posted here and all of a sudden I was kicked off and a big error message came up. Oh well, I am learning a few things. I still haven't found everyone yet and appreciate everyone who found me first.

Multi-tasking

Usually I'm Ms. Multi-tasker but I can't seem to do that here.  So I post what I read and I lurk when I have downtime.
