Due to the teaser on the back cover I had expected a bit of quirky to blow
in with Hurricane Hannah. On that point I definitely was right. There
were a couple of interesting secondary characters that added to the
plot. I also got the insights to the mind of a love sick alligator.
Something that I hadn't come across in a romance novel before.
This was also the first time I saw an interesting power-play in the dynamics
between our hero and heroine in their first sexual encounter. Boy!
That certainly gave me a lot to think about.
Hannah Lamont is a sassy and very confident pilot who happened to make an
emergency landing on Treasure Island. In addition to some very odd
residents she finds herself in tight quarters with Buck Shanahan.
This former Top Gun pilot now runs a small airport away from the
hustle and bustle of the rest of the world, only to have his peace
disturbed by a spunky redhead.
Even though I'm from Texas, I'm not a poker player. A good portion of this
story dealt with poker as the inhabitants of Treasure Island
primarily settle all issues by a game of cards, including which woman
gets mating rights to the sexy Buck Shanahan. During these parts I
did find myself breezing through to the high points, however anybody
with a knowledge of the game will probably find it engrossing.

Love is a conscious choice we make,
not the feelings that cause us to tingle and shake.
Romance begins as a state of mind,
and is expressed in the efforts to care and be kind.

Hi Sinthia - I enjoyed this one last year after Wayne (Trybble)
reviewed it
I think the alligator was my favourite character

Loved...
the alligator in this one! Like you, I sort of breezed through all the poker parts. But the alligator made this one a keeper for me.
