I didn't even know this was here...

Okay,

Today I'm exploring eharlequin 2.0, and I didn't realize the blog stuff was here, so....  I'm not exactly sure where this will end up, and I hope it's okay that it's not a book review.  Instead, I think I want to chat.

It's snowing here today.  We've already got about 4 inches on the ground, and I think we'll end up with a lot more.  We're getting the big soap-flake snow-flakes, which add up quickly.  In my neighborhood, there's a bunch of old houses, so it's very Normal Rockwell when it snows. All the big spruce trees and pine trees turn white.  Much fun.

I love snowy days, assuming I don't have to go outside, which completely spoils the hibernatory (I just made that word up, hopefully it exists) aspects of the day.  Snowy days are meant to stay inside by the fire, curled up in a chair, and preferably reading.  Today, I'm finishing up on revisions, but I do hope to do some reading as well.

I've got tons of books in my to-be-read, including the last of my RITA books.  Here's hoping the snow keeps coming down.

This would be the place to come, then,

if you just want to chat about life or your writing or upcoming releases or whatever.  The Book Reviews are in a different section so that the auto counter can count how many books we've read toward our 100,000 goal.  You can join that, too.  Have you read and reviewed any books yet (for the counter, not your judging job)?  I wonder if reads for judging count?  You couldn't really REVIEW them here but maybe you could do a blank review for the counter? Hmmm . . .

I was at my sister's a couple of weeks ago (we're from Colorado, she's still there) and it snowed 12-20 inches almost every day that we were there.  My kids' classmates here in TX just don't get how much snow there is.  There's going on 400 inches up where my sis is, just since Dec 1.  I sooo do not miss driving in the snow, shoveling snow, fighting snow.  I miss playing in it but not having to do all the other stuff.  Like having professionals come over to get the snow off your roof (which my sis did while we were there -- took a DAY AND A HALF).

Hope you keep blogging here!

Kathleen-

I can picture your neighborhood. It sounds like you will have a lovely day.

I moved from Missouri to NM last year so this is my first winter without snow in a while. I miss the snow (and the cardinals flying in it) but I don't miss the ice storms and slush.

Cool bio. I like your subtle sense of humor. Bye. I have to go look up hibernatory...

Hi, Penn -- I used to

Hi, Penn --

I used to live in Texas, so I think we reversed.  I can't believe all the snow that CO is having this year.  400 inches is amazing.  Heck, I got excited about ten. :)

I think I just finished revisions, so I bet I'll have some books to review soon.  I'll check out the book review challenge and tick the counter.

thanks for guiding me alone.

Angel, We did have a

Angel,

We did have a lovely day, and DH bought a snow blower.  We had an old rickety one, but we've been discussing, and well, the rest is snow-blowing history.  I'm not surprised you miss the snow.  I've lived in warm climate for almost all of my life (born and raised in TX), except for the past five years. However,  think that now, I'm going to miss it if we ever move.

Hello V1978lp.  I went to your profile, because I feel like I'm addressing a model number with V1978lp, but no name, so I'm going with it. ...Laughing

I've read lots about the drought in SC and GA.  I hope you guys get things fixed up soon.  They said on the news last night that GA wanted to move their state line a few hundred feet north into Tennessee because there was a river there, and GA needed the water.  Don't think Tennessee will be too happy bout that.

Yes...I don't think any state will be incredibly appreciative of another state taking their land.  In all honesty, people are becoming more aware of their water usage here so its possible to say that the drought has had some unintended benefits.  Lets hope that we get a couple of nice tropical depressions to sit over us for a few days.

Lovely snow

I've also been enjoying a day of looking out the window and watching the flakes come down. It's been a great day for reading books. This is the type of day I consider a gift day-one plus of working in a school setting.

Men love snow blowers.

I remember when my father-in-law in PA bought one last year. We were visiting and I think every guy in the neighborhood had to come down and see it. (It was a Tim the Tool man Taylor moment.)
