This is another book in the Montana Mavericks series. After Lizbeth is dumped, she decides to reinvent herself again. When Mitchell Cates offers her a new job, she sees her opportunity. Unfortunately, she doesn’t know the reason he hires her is because he wants to date her. As Mitchell begins to see that she is more than a pretty face and Lizbeth opens herself to him, the two grow closer, but will the truth of her hire break them apart? I enjoyed this book. Lizbeth was a woman who had never thought much of herself, so it was interesting watching her growth. Mitchell, although successful in business, is a dud with woman – which is fun to see. The two navigating through the sticky water of work dating was fun journey and one I enjoyed. My only complaint about this series is I don’t see how this group of guys are friends – they are nasty to each other and the heroes from other books often act like jerks. I haven’t been happy with many of the multi-author series within SSE and am going to try and stay away from them. (I say try as I am a series junkie) I think I am having issues with the bibles given out to the SSE authors – way too much acrimony between the couples, just not my cup of tea. Overall an enjoyable book.

I know what you mean
Mixing authors is often hard. I thought this series was just quirky enough to work though. I guess when you grow up in a really small town, friends even with nothing in common just happens - seems so in this series anyway.

Maybe that is it. It just seems like for friends, they aren't real supportive of each other. I did like the interaction between Mitchell and Marshall in this book - seemed like true brothers.

I get where you're coming
I get where you're coming from regarding multi author series. Sometimes there are just some things that are "missing", not really the word I want ot use, but the only one I'm thinking of at the moment. I did, however, enjoy this one book, mostly because I enjoy PT's writing...

I liked Mitchell and Lizbeth, but thought that Dax and Russ were jerks in this book - even Grant was a bit too harsh for my liking. Just bothers me as how can they be heroes if they are also idiots.

Hi Cady - I can get teasing, but Russ' attitude from the very
first book made me wonder why the others stayed friends with him,
and I mentioned when I blogged this book that Grant's attitude to Liz
at the end of this book seemed excessive.
Maybe the authors were high on the excitement and the bickering read more friendly to them than it did to us
I mean there are bound to be people on this site who think that FF and I can't stand each other ...

I have to go back and look
Wait you mean that you and FF are friends?
I have to go back and look at your reviews, I didn't read them too thoroughly since I hadn't read the books. Grant seemed way harsh to Lizbeth - especially since he was friends with her and basically used her to make his girlfriend jealous. I also have been having issues with Dax and hope that in his book he makes amends to the Lizbeth and DJ. However, I am determined to finish off the series if for no reason then to get it out of my TBR.

I've got this one (and the series) in my TBR. I haven't started reading any of them yet so I can't weigh in on the discussion.
But I know how you feel about the discontinuity of the characters between books in this type of series. The last series I read was in the Super Romance line and while as individual books, they were good, if you looked at them as a series, there were a lot of inconsistencies of the characters from each author's perspective. Annoying, to say the least.
