Noah is a struggling single father of three young children. He has moved out to a very small community hoping that they can get on with their lives since his wife went missing several years before. The two little ones can't even remember their mother but the oldest, Tim, is having a hard time letting go. Jennifer is their neighbor and she has noticed Noah and the stuggles he is having with his children. She runs a day care in her home and has never allowed herself to get too attached to any of the kids. But when the two little ones from next door decide to make her theirs, she can't deny that they have become special to her. Soon Tim becomes special too even though he has made it clear that he doesn't want her as his mom and she had better stay away from his dad in that way. Jennifer can't help but fall for them all espcially Noah. Noah is begins to believe that maybe he and his kids are going to get though it with Jennifers help. But Jennifer is afraid to let them in. She does not want to feel the pain like she did with her divorce and the loss of her own baby. This was a tiny little book and it was packed with a lot of emotion. I sometimes wanted to shake Jennifer for her back and forth feelings but, at the same time, I could understand that she was afraid to hurt again. I felt so sorry for little Tim who wanted to hang on to the belief that his mom would return. And I felt sorry for Noah as he was trying to love his kids and bring them back together as a family. I enjoyed this one and I recommend having a hanky available because I don't think it is possible to read this one without sheading a tear or two.

Yes, I did copy it. I've done this before and I was pretty frustrated with myself for not being more careful.
