I'll Have What She's Having

When_Harry_Met_Sally_-_pic_14.jpg

I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.” -- WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989)

Romantic Comedy at it's best. Rent it. You’ll love it. I laughed. I cried. It was better than CATS. Seriously.

Happy Valentines Day!

That's one of my absolute

That's one of my absolute favorite movies of all time--and that's one of the most romantic scenes. Thanks for reminding me of it. Smile

I knew what you were talking about!

Just from the title... and you're right, it is a fabulous movie that I don't take the time to enjoy enough.

Thanks for the lovely reminder... and the chuckle; those two ladies sitting next to Harry and Sally in the restaurant were priceless!  Laughing

Ditto!

JanaBelle, It's one of my favorite movies as well and I haven't seen it in a very long time. Tonight would be perfect!

The scene I excerpted is just one of so many wonderful scenes although it's probably the most romantic. Another favorite is when she has a crying jag over her ex-boyfriend.

Sally: I'm too structured, I'm completely closed off.
Harry: But in a good way.
Sally: No, no, no, I drove him away. AND, I'm gonna be forty.
Harry: When?
Sally: Someday.
Harry: In eight years.
Sally: But it's there. It's just sitting there, like some big dead end. And it's not the same for men. Charlie Chaplin had kids when he was 73.
Harry: Yeah, but he was too old to pick them up.

Ha!

Trivia

kalyko, I agree. The two ladies sitting next to them in the diner were priceless. And if I recall my trivia right, the one who actually said that great line-- "I'll have what she's having." --was Billy Crystal's real-life mom. Laughing

No Beth she was the director's mother

Estelle Reiner and she's credited as "Older customer in orgasm scene ("I'll have what she's having")"

Great film Laughing

Doh! I Knew That. Once.

Oh, geez. That's right, Sadhbh. She was Rob Reiner's mom. Gak! Well, I was sort of close. Thanks for the clarification!
