First, I must say that it took me entirely too long to read this book because I had the mother of all head colds and all the words were blurred when I tried to read. Also, it just gave me a headache. I'm glad to say that I am now better (not over the cold but better) and have finished this book and started the third in the series. I think I may have read something by this author before since I know she writes for Blaze, but it was a long time ago. I have enjoyed this series so far and really liked this book. Spa owner Mercedes Estevez placed J. Dennis McClary's card in the "booty call" boot after they broke up. She didn't expect to draw it herself. Interestingly enough her accountant, Nigel, has passed her expansion plans on to Dennis because he thinks he is Mercedes' lawyer. The minute they meet to discuss the spa expansion it's as though the past two months never existed. Mercedes knew that there was no future for them since she didn't fit into Dennis' family's political plans for him, but maybe they can a strickly physical relationship since it's so hot between them. Dennis just wants Mercedes back. Can he convince her that they really love each other and can have more? Good story. Very hot and I liked that strong, capable Mercedes sometimes doubted herself, but then shook it off. Dennis is wonderfully supportive and sweet.
"It is to the credit of human nature that, except where its selfishness is brought into play, it loves more readily than it hates."
