Tamara Clarkson has always used her quirky dress to hide the real her. She was devastated when after her mother had an affair her parents divorced. Her mother basically abandoned her and her father became a workaholic. She knew that she could never be with a man who didn't see her and help her be free. She's working temp jobs til she can find that "perfect" job and get out on her own. A new co-worker and friend introduces her to the "Booky Call" group. This group is a bunch of women who are tired of the pressure they put on themselves and their dates when you're hoping for a relationship so they have devised a system where when one of the meets someone that they aren't really interested in but might be nice for someone else they get their card. Each Monday the women draw a card and call the guy to set up a blind date. Each Monday the women report back about the dates. Tam pulls a card for Kyle Sullivan. He's a waiter and young, but the woman who put his card in feels like he'd be a good fun date with no strings attached. Tam can get into that. When she makes the date with Kyle he sneaks into the bar and decides that she isn't pretty enough for him. His cousin Murphy who is with him at the time is drawn to Tam immediately and can't believe his cousin can be so shallow. Murphy wants to make sure that she isn't hurt by being stood up so he goes in by her a drink and explain Kyle's absence. But she mistakes him for Kyle and he is so drawn to her that he thinks he'll just pretend to be Kyle "just for one night". Then he can't get enough and pretending to be Kyle has made him realize a few things about himself and what he wants. Will Tam and Kyle be able to forgive him when he realizes he can't keep lying to them? Good story. This series in fun with the "booty call" group making the dates. I'm looking forward to the other 2.

Leanne, I absolutely adore
Leanne, I absolutely adore Crystal Green's stuff. How could I not? She's such a sweetheart! She's on my auto-pick-up list. Unfortunately way too many of her books end up being swallowed by the TBR monster. I do manage to rescue some here and there. I think I have this one somewhere in The Pile. But I'm a bit frightened to look to closely....

TBR shelves
I know what you mean. This series is from 2006! I've been trying to be good and stick with books on the TBR shelves but sometimes you just find a book you "have to have"!
