Even though I knew that I had read 99 harlequin titles I just wasn't thinking... and that happens to me a fair bit. Going through things unconciously until, after the fact, I realize that I've passed a milestone.
So, belatedly, of 142 books, I've read 100 harlequin titles; this book, Cara Colter's The Playboy's Plain Jane was an outstanding book with which to celebrate this achievement.
It may seem a minor point, but I'm learning not to take too many things for granted... something that I do. Another lesson I've learned from this story and many others like it.
Now all I have to do is remember this lesson!

Congrats on the milestone! It's fun to have goals and celebrate 'em!
Hmm... a question about the Harlequin Imprints vs. Other... should I be keeping track of my numbers? Really.... I'm very very confident that at least 80% of the books I review will be Harlequins, unless all of a sudden my reading habits change (then again, maybe I'll discover some kickass paranormal authors and only 70% will be Harlequins, lol!)
LOL...
Sadhbh, when I notice things like this, there's always, in the back of my mind, a few of you wonderful people from here that I seem to hear... so thank you!
Donna, until I read the bio at the front of the book I had no idea... of course once I started the story I may have realized it... obviously I didn't notice with the first book that I read. Gotta wonder sometimes about my noticing abilities.
Janet, nope you don't have to do anything. Last year there were a few people that did it and I was curious, but as I didn't think of keeping track until the middle of last year there was no way I was going to. It's primarily for my own benefit ... and to show myself that there's something in each line that I really enjoy. I sometimes need to remind myself of that as well 'cause I can easily get hung up on one or two "types" of books.

Heh... I am a little
Heh... I am a little addicted to certain series! Presents, Desire, Blaze, Nocturne! The rest I pretty much only read if I see a back cover that just drags me in.
Janet- ratios
Some people just keep track of the numbers for their own curiosity. Even though I now I read WAY more Harlequins than other I still keep track. Then I keep track of a TBR/new ratio, with new books consisting of books that I have gotten in the last 3 months. I also have a bought/acquired(which is any book that passes my over my threshhold and finds a home on the bookshelf) to read ratio. Which is really scary. Now I know why I never kept track of this before. All these ratios are just for my own curiousity(amusement)

Thank you very much...
Christa, oh do I agree on the "scary" factor with keeping track of the books that come into the house. And, for me, I never really did pay attention before to what I was reading... I like doing that.
Merri, Oh... I love the graphics... and boy, do they make me feel special!

Congrats Kathy! Christa-
Congrats Kathy!
I was going to try keeping track of bought/acquired this year (after seeing some people do it last yr), but I gave up after the first week or two. I've lost all self-control when it comes to book aquiring.
Jo
LOL...
Oh heavens Jo... you know it!
And thank you!

bought/acquired
The print books are a little easier but ebooks is where is bomes dicey because a) it's not a book I physically hold in my hand and b it may be a short novella so I counted the three when I bought them but one count them as one read. So not sure how much longer I can keep that total up. Because the scary part just between Friday and Saturday I bought 32 books.

Oh Christa.... LOL
There have been days when I wasn't going to go to go looking for books... I should know better by now NOT to set myself up that way. Books truly are an addiction and while I count ebooks singly ~ most of the time ~ when dealing with acquiring them, I don't really *count* them... they take up so little space you see.
