If you love romance and football you would probably enjoy this book!
Since I am a big football fan a romance this book that involves a football team was calling to me!
Phoebe and her father do not have a good relationship. Why did he leave her his beloved football team, the Chicago Stars? Phoebe knew it was because he expected her to fail. Under the terms of the will the team would revert to her cousin, Reed, if the team didn't win under Phoebe's ownership.
Dan Calebow is the coach of the stars. Dan was at one time a winning quarterback, he would like nothing better than to take the Stars to the Super Bowl. Dan can't figure out why Bert would leave the team to someone that knows nothing about football, hates the game and seems to be nothing more than a blonde bimbo! Needless to say, Dan is in for a few surprises!
Dan and Phoebe have very different ideas about running a football team. The two have a chemistry between them that tends to be explosive which leads to some hot arguments. Once they learn to work together, not an easy thing for either of them, the sexual chemistry between them keeps escalating.
This book is the first book in a series called Chicago Stars. Since I am a big football fan I had to try this first book, now I am already part way through the second book in the series!
This first book has lots going on to lay the ground work for the books to follow. While there were some parts of the first book that didn't thrill me I loved the story of these two. It was entertaining, Phoebe's interaction with the team is priceless! There were a few things in the book that made me remind myself it was published in 1994. The story though has stood the test of time.

Aahh, SEP. I've read them
Aahh, SEP. I've read them all. And caution, I don't know that the rest of them have as much to do with football than this one. But every one is a good read, regardless. I'm looking forward to reading your reviews on the others.

Hi Lori,
I'm hooked on this series! I just posted my review on the second book Heaven, Texas. I need to see about finding the ones I don't have as I'm starting on #3 & don't have #4 or #7! Thank heavens for used bookstores where you can find older books! Way too many good authors/books & not enough time or money!!!
Take care, happy reading,
