Talk about an eye opener! You might as well say th
at after awhile, I just kept my glasses off because I was tired of clearing the fog off them!
Let me say that I don't read anything with a heat level higher than - yummy. So why did I read this Extreme Blaze? Well, because I won it during last fall's open house. Hope Tarr sent me an autographed copy as well as an awesome Christmas gift and I thought the least I could do was write a book review about it. I mean honestly, it's amazing what a girl will do for the sake of Literacy!
I've always loved watching the Christmas classic, "It's a Wonderful Life". This book is loosely based on that premise - that someone dies but by way of some spiritual happening, you can go back and do it over again.
So in this book, Mandy Delinski is a street-wise cop trying to make detective. She's 30, overweight, and living at home. On Christmas Eve, she works at a fancy function where she meets Josh Thornton. He might be just a bartender, but he's the stuff of a woman's dreams and he's actually looking at her! No, I can't tell you what happens that night, but the next day when Mandy goes to work, she's called in to identify a body and yup - guess who's lying on the slab! (I'm not giving anything away - it's on the blurb!)
And I'm not telling you how, but Mandy gets a second chance. (Also in the blurb.) She'll meet Josh Thornton again and relive that fateful Christmas Eve. But will she be able to keep him alive this time?
Did I enjoy the book? Immensely
Did I gain anything from reading this book? I'm not sure yet - have to corral my hubby for awhile.
Heat level: Heat Wave (Wait a minute - she's a cop - if thinking about handcuffing him to the bed posts is considered kinky (how do I know?), then this would bump it up into the combustible category.)

Definitely Hot!
I loved this book. I read it awhile ago, but it was a keeper. And you got to love the storyline - what person doesn't want a "second chance" at something in life?

Saw your post when I was visiting the HB site
and decided to stop by to see how you liked this book. I have this in my TBR pile, but have put off reading it. I not sure why since the reviews I have read all had good things to say about this book. I've read The Haunting by Hope Tarr and really liked it. Guess I'm going to have to pull this one out to read in April - already have March's reads set aside. Thanks for the great review.
