I love JD Robb's 'in death' series. I can read her books over and over again. I never get tire of reading them. While waiting for the next book in the series to be released I always read the previous books in the series again.
I have just today got the latest book titled Strangers in Death by JD Robb. I have only read the first 2/3 pages but am looking forward to reading to the rest of the book. I think everything else will get set aside while I read this book. I had been reading a historical romance yesterday which isn't quite finished. There is still a quarter of it left but I have put it to one side so I can read this one before going back to it later.
What I like about this series is that interaction Eve Dallas has with everyone she encounters. Whether its her husband, his servant who she has always traded insults with, her deputy who she treats like a pesky kid and her co-workers who have been with her throughout her police years.
All the books combined have given an insight into both Eve and Roarke's past and how they use that to solve cases. it's lovely to read about.
Eve is a woman who has been through alot in life but has used that past to get ahead in life the only way she knows how by solving the crimes for teh victims she encounters. She isn't a typical lady. She hates dressing up, spending money, pampering herself with manicures etc and runs a mile when her girlfriends get together for a pampering session. I love the insight into the realtionship she has with her husband and how they resolve differences in opinion and sometimes pain that they encounter in their lives with each other. How they try to cope alone but the other doesn't allow them to.
I had to let all these views I have regarding this series out somewhere as JD Robb is my favourite author out of all the books I have ever read. The mixture of romance, murder and suspense and the insight into how the world might be like in 30 years is beautiful and interesting.
Do anyone enjoy these books like I do? What do you think of the characters that are introduced and of the main characters of Eve Dallas and Roarke? It will be interesting to see what views and opinions are expressed through this post regarding this series of books. Thank you for listening.

Hi!
I think you'll find quite a few people on here read this series. I started it many moons ago, and have them all, but I'm woefully behind. I, too, love seeing how the world might look (can't the pay moms to stay home NOW?), and the insights into their personalities.
How much of Nora's other books have you read? I have all them too, even though I'm behind in reading there also. Do you have any favorites?

I snap them up
I snap them up as fast as they hit the shelves and then I have to wait again for the next one. I love each new book and love the insights into Roarke and Eve's evolving growth. Glad to meet another fan of this series.

Got Books?
Hi Angel
I am another J.D. Robb fan. I started her books several years ago and was hooked from the first book I read. It was book 3 or 4 and I had to go out and get the others to read in order. At the time, there were only about 7 books out so I didn't have many too catch up with. Since then, I've been anxiously waiting for every new book. Now that they come out in hardcover, I have to get them from the library because I don't want to wait another six months for the paperback. But this series is a keeper. Just terrific.
Terri, You really need to start reading them now. They are so good. :)

I've read and enjoyed many
I've read and enjoyed many of Nora Roberts books, but the only JD Robb book I've read was the 1/2 of Remember When. Maybe I should start.
The great gift is the passion for reading. It is cheap [Hah! It most certainly is not!], it consoles, it distracts, it excites. It gives knowledge of the world and experience of a wide kind. It is moral illumination. ~ Elizabeth Hardwick
I love this series and I
I love this series and I have read every book in this series except for the one that is out right now. I came across Conspiracy In Death by accident and I was hooked ever since. I just love how Eve and Roarke interact with each other. I know for me it makes me want to read more and more about these two.

You should be able
You should be able to find the first ones in the series. Naked in Death and then Glory in Death, Immortal in Death, Rapture in Death, Ceremony in Death. Those should get you started but you really need to read them in order as each new case follows the one before. You'll love them.

I started with Remember When!
I first came across this series when I picked up Remember When which is a 2 part book. I was intrigued by Eve from then on and thought to find other books from this series. I am a eve-a-holic as it could be said. I am loving the current book Strangers in Death. She is her usual catty and fantastic self with her terrific one-liners to everyone.
What I find most intriging is the way Eve runs through a crime that's been committed and gets into the mind of the murderer and understands how they think. It's uncanny how she can visualise the crime as though its happening then.
I have read (I think) all of the books in the series except for the stories that were part of the anthologies and were slightly too expensive or not available from local shops to buy. I hav recently read Interlude in Death which I found as an ebook on the fictionwise website. This fictionwise website has been a godsend for me as I can get various ebooks that I haven't read for a much cheaper price than I would have got in the local bookstores. The ebooks are full length novels and I enjoy reading them but they're arent the same as reading in print books. I have the anthology Dead of Night which contains a book from JD Robb and it contains Eve and Roarke in it in a slight twist to the story.
I think my favourite of them all would have to be (so far) Memory in Death. It allowed us a glimpse into what happened to Eve after she left her father's 'care'. The people she came into contact with turned up again at the beginning of the story and how she reacted to it which gave us a glimpse into Eve's vulnerable side. I loved the way Roarke went to her as soon as he heard who had come calling on Eve and how he refused to let her cope alone with all the past that had been dug up.
Anyway what are your favourites so far in this series and why? How would you feel if ever JD Robb stopped writing this series? I would be absolutely devastated. I live on these books. Please offer any suggestions of any books from this series that would be a good read and your opinions on the stories that are incorporated into the anthologies.
Dead of night is going to be next read after this one. I will buy it off fictionwise ebook website and read it. I am looking forward to it. I hope the next book which is titled Salvation in Death will be out soon but I think is out in August (I think).
I am so glad that there are others out there who are JD Robb fans adn that I am not the only one. Have enjoyed reading your comments. Look forward to reading more.
