This is a wonderful book. Its basic premise is that Eli a Black Editor and writer of the Gazette is going out of business. He is trying to attract the interest of a black Publisher a Mr. G. W. Hicks. Mr Hicks prefers that the men in his employ be married. It is this situation that compels Eli to ask a favor of longtime friend Jewel. This begins a truly remarkable journey, with plenty of surprises along the way. Although this is a complete novel in and of itself, I highly reccomend its companion piece Vivid. I hope you enjoy.
