Alison Fairchild has lived her whole life in Cooper’s Corner. Ethan Granger is visiting for the wedding of Seth and Wendy. Seth has come as a sightless school teacher, but he is working undercover.
Like other stories in the Cooper’s Corner continuity it is not dependent on the other stories, but it helps to understand how the current couple fits into the whole. This story is a sweet read, it moves right along and it keeps this reader turning the pages, but it doesn’t have the level of intensity other books had (an observation, not a criticism). Much has been made of Alison and her big nose in earlier books, so it is nice to see an Alison who is spreading her wings and flying. Thumbs up.
