Well, trying to keep up with all our neighbors is leading me down a path to which I never thought I would venture. Ever.
Am I buying a Lexus? No. Am I buying a nice wide screen plasma TV? No. Am I remodeling my kitchen? No. So how am I "keeping up with the Jones"?
I'm buying...flax seed.
Yes. Flax seed. I'm becoming...healthy. Stupid neighbors. It's all their fault. They're all a bunch of overachievers--entering triathlons, and eating their bran/flax seed muffins in their skinny jeans and high heels. Bleh. It's forced me to get into shape. Since the first of the year, I've been going to the gym 4 to 5 times a week. And now I'm making fruit smoothies with flax seed for lunch.
The good news is I'm four pounds lighter. And I'm actually liking the taste of flax seed now. It's kind of nutty. And gritty. Different. I hope it's making my body happy, anyway.
Are you a healthy eater?

Good for you on getting in

RE: KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES
Sh*t, I've never worried about 'keeping up with the Joneses'. If they don't like me, they can kiss me a*s. Actually, I've got good neighbours and we've all gone from the "dung heap" to making something of all ourselves.

Flaxseed oil
I'm a vegetarian and also I have come into contact with a lot of people who through health problems have been started on flaxseed by naturopaths. As I read more about omega 3 and see the conditions it helps I am so aware that the food we eat becomes integrated into our body and we see the result in future years. Common sense tells me do not wait until you are forced to start eating healthily but preserve your body while it is in still in good condition.
(Speaking from personal experience - having been brought up healthy then eating lots of junk food for years--> fatigue and food intolerances.)
Good on you for looking after yourself and this is a time when keeping up with the Joneses is a good thing.
