January 2008 Ballatine Books
Another new trilogy from Allison Brennan. I loved her previous books and this one I think I loved even more! She has a fantastic way of getting inside a villain's psyche, which gives her novels such a creepy feeling. This was no exception. A serial killer who was put on death row is freed by a force of nature and is after those who put him behind bars in the first place. Especially Robin. So Robin must rely on the man who broke her heart to find and put this killer behind bars. Before he gets to Robin.
I absolutely loved Robin and Will. I could really feel the love and hurt felt between them. I think this book had more romance in it than her previous books, too. Such a wonderful combination of creepy suspense, crime and passion. A definite must-read!! I'm just sad that we have to wait months for the next in the series to come out.
If you have read her previous trilogies, you will meet up with past characters, past heroines and heroes, which was a lot of fun. I hope we get to learn more about Robin and Will in coming books. And you get a twist in this novel you don't see coming in the very beginning. Very hard to put this book down!
Blurb from back cover: Theodore Glenn loves to inflict pain... both on his victims and on those who later find the mutilated corpses. At his trial seven years ago, Glenn vowed vengeance on Detective Will Hooper, the cop who nabbed him, and the beautiful Robin McKenna, the stripper whose testimony put him behind bars.
When a catastrophic disaster sets Glenn free, he blazes a freshly bloodied path across San Diego County. But the death he craves the most is Robin McKenna's.
Putting aside their past troubled relationship, Will rushes to protect Robin, now a savvy businesswoman operating an upscale club. As the killings mount and Glenn proves a master manipulator, Robin and Will become snared in a twisted web of horror. But the shocking truth is even worse: The evil they are to face is even deadlier than they fear.

You won't be disappointed!
You won't be disappointed! She really creates wonderful characters, a great and compelling story line and she really gets into the villain's psyche, giving that extra creepy element. I think she gets better with each book and I enjoyed her early books. She has two trilogies out and this book was the first in her third set.
Tracey, I have to read this
Tracey, I have to read this author. I am so swamped by books and series right now...if you had to pick a title for me for my first read by her, what would you choose?

Family Challenge Team: The Spine Breakers with my dh Glenn AKA Phaedrus
Paisley ~ honestly, I loved
Paisley ~ honestly, I loved this book, though I know Aubrey said she didn't enjoy it as much as previous ones. She's a great author, and she's a fairly new author! However, her first book is The Prey, so that might be the best place to start, though her books are stand-alones. Hope you enjoy!!
